  • Patent number: 5080601
Abstract: An appliance plug includes a front housing part with a collar having a sealing flange and a contact carrier member and a cover plate for contact pins surrounded by the collar and including fastening screws mounted in the contact carrier member. A rear housing part includes a support flange which is engaged from behind by a bayonet ring, and screw columns for the fastening screws in the contact carrier member and a cable insertion member. The end face of the sealing flange is provided with an annular groove and a sealing ring inserted into the annular groove. The rear housing part has a sealing edge which can be pressed into the annular groove or the sealing ring. The collar has an internal flange serving as a support for the contact carrier members and as an abutment for the cover plate. The contact carrier member has locking projections and the cover plate has locking recesses which are engaged by the locking projections. The individual components of the front housing part can be assembled without screws.

  • Patent number: 5061205
Abstract: An electrical connector for flat arranged terminals provided on a flexible sheet is more compact in size and reduces the number of parts via one-piece formation. A body portion and a cover portion of the connector are configured by insert molding to contain a frame having parallel conductive contact lines as an insert. The body is configured to be spaced from the cover, but connected by a pair of hinge portions. The contact lines extending from two sides of the body are cut off from the prior stage frame, and the lines extending from one side are each bent on the body to form a leaf spring. The lines extending from another side of the body are curtailed. Then, the cover is bent over the body to fit each other. In the fitting, the cover is withheld first at a position that provides a clearance to receive the flexible sheet having terminals to be connected.

  • Patent number: 5040999
Abstract: An electrical shielding arrangement is provided wherein an edge connector (5) interconnects first and second circuit boards (1, 16). One of the boards (1) on which the edge connector lies includes a metal ground plane (2) and a plated through hole (3) which extends through the board and which makes effective contact with the metal ground plane. The plated through hole receives a metal fixing pin (4) of compliant metal which extends from the connector body (30) and is press fit into the hole (3). The forward end of the pin is positioned to engage a conductive layer (20s) at the leading edge of the second board, which is connected to the ground plane (19) of the second board. Thus, the pin (3) interconnects the ground planes (2, 19) of the two boards.

  • Patent number: 5015196
Abstract: A low insertion force type connector is provided which comprises an elongated housing made of an insulating material and having an elongated cavity in a longitudinal direction. A plurality of contacts are located at predetermined intervals along the length of the elongated cavity and are adapted to contact an edge portion of the printed circuit board. A pair of latches are located at opposite ends of the housing providing a spacing defined therebetween over the cavity. Each contact comprises first contact means having a first contact portion for contacting one surface of the printed circuit board and second contact means having a second contact portion for contacting the other surface of the printed circuit board, and a pin portion for supporting the first and second contact means.
