  • Patent number: 9213508
Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a printer driver, a reception unit, a first and second determination unit, a transmission unit, and a change unit to instruct, via the printer driver, a printer to execute printing. The reception unit receives print data including setting data having setting values for print setting items. The first determination unit determines whether setting values cause an inconsistency. The second determination unit determines whether the client apparatus or the information processing apparatus is to resolve an inconsistency. The transmission unit transmits, in response to determining that the setting values cause an inconsistency and that the client apparatus is to resolve the inconsistency, an instruction for resolving the inconsistency to the client apparatus.

  • Patent number: 9210291
Abstract: An image processing apparatus capable of synthesizing a form image with an aggregate image created by aggregating images on one page. A CPU determines whether an operator performed on a touch panel a first operation for changing an image with which the form image is to be synthesized from an image as an operation target to one of the images of the aggregate image or the whole aggregate image, or a second operation for rotating the form image synthesized with the operation target image. When the first operation is performed, the CPU synthesizes the form image with the changed image after scaling the form image to the size of the changed image. When the second operation is performed, the CPU synthesizes the form image with the operation target image after rotating the form image and scaling the same to the size of the operation target image.

  • Patent number: 9134933
Abstract: An information processing apparatus which is capable of printing a file attached to an e-mail using an existing printing apparatus. An electronic mail with a file attached thereto is received. With respect to each of printing apparatuses, a printer driver used in the printing apparatus and an identifier that identifies the printing apparatus are stored in association with each other in a storage unit. Based on the stored information, a printer driver corresponding to an identifier that identifies a printing apparatus entered in the received electronic mail is identified as a printer driver to be used. Print data is generated from the file attached to the received electronic mail using the identified printer driver. The generated print data is sent to the identified printing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 9124748
Abstract: It aims to improve user's convenience by, while keeping a printing electricity charge low by executing a print job under a low electricity charge, executing a print job for a user aiming at certain print job execution without waiting until time of the low electricity charge. In order to do so, an image forming apparatus acquires information related to the electricity charge, and restricts execution of the input print job based on the acquired information. Thus, in case of restricting the execution of the input print job based on the information related to the electricity charge, if the input print job is a first print job configured to be executed on a priority basis, the first print job is executed, and, if the input print job is a second print job not configured to be executed on a priority basis, the execution of the second print job is restricted.

  • Patent number: 9124731
Abstract: A PC registers in advance PC-assistant copying functions which can be provided by the printer driver for a MFP. The MFP presents, to the user, copying functions including the registered functions. Upon reception of a copy instruction, the MFP determines whether selected functions include a PC-assisted copying function. If the selected functions include a PC-assisted copying function, the MFP transmits, to the PC, scanned image data and a job ticket containing information representing the selected functions. Upon reception of the job ticket, the PC generates a print job for printing the image data on the basis of the job ticket, and transmits the print job to the MFP.

  • Patent number: 9098475
Abstract: A method for creating reusable composite components from interpreted pages of rendered document during dynamic document construction involves first obtaining a list of document components from the page and identifying any non-cached components. The individual reusable document components (RDCs) are cached having been rendered to their respective bounding box dimensions. These RDCs are then permuted into combinations of RDCs and each composite RDC is cached rendered relative to each other in a bounding box of sufficient size to adequately contain the combination. Then, combining RDCs to form composite reusable underlays RULs and caching the composite RULs rendered to full-page size. Any portion of each RDC of each composite RUL falling outside the boundary of RULs full-page size is clipped. If a method renders pages having a combination of reusable components and non-cached components, the first step assesses the page for the possibility of having an underlay-overlay pair.

  • Patent number: 9094545
Abstract: An image processing apparatus which is capable of performing scanning of an original, using a plurality of scan settings stored in an information processing apparatus, without necessitating a dedicated server or a complicated user operation before execution of the scanning. An image processing apparatus (MFP) receives and displays host PC names and scan setting names transmitted from host PCs on a display section. The MFP finalizes a host PC name selected by a user from the host PC names and one of scan setting names associated with the finalized host PC name, which is selected by the user. The MFP sends a scan execution instruction to the host PC to instruct the same to execute scanning using a scan setting associated with the finalized scan setting name.

  • Patent number: 9094631
Abstract: [Problem] To suppressing part of an image not being recorded even when the image to be recorded does not fit in an area defined by the top, bottom, left, and right margins set by an application. [Solution] If the size of the image to be recorded is larger than the application-specified area defined by the margins when image information including information denoting margins on cut-sheet paper is input from an application execution unit, the printer driver execution unit of the host computer virtually enlarges the positions of the sides of the cut-sheet paper, and generates and outputs to the printer a control command to record the image described by the image data in an enlarged area, which is an area defined by sides separated by the margin from the virtually enlarged sides.
