  • Patent number: 10729434
Abstract: A surgical instrument includes a body, a shaft, and an end effector that is operable to compress, staple, and cut tissue. The end effector includes and anvil and a cartridge. The anvil has a body and a modular releasable curved tip that connects with the body. The curved tip is elastically deformable in response to force exerted on the curved tip when tissue is clamped between the anvil and cartridge. The curved and deformable features of anvil provide for an end effector with improved visualization and maneuverability, in particular during procedures involving marching. The modular nature of the curved anvil tip provides for an end effector that allows anvil tip replacement due to wear or interchangeability based on a user preference or procedure.

  • Patent number: 10640351
Abstract: A method and apparatus for applying a cap to a container may include arranging a first cap in relation to the neck portion of a first container, such that a threaded portion of the first cap faces a complementary threaded neck portion of the first container. Further, a symmetry axis of the first cap and a symmetry axis of the neck portion of the first container may be aligned. The first cap may be rotated around its symmetry axis to a pre-recorded initial angular position. The first cap may be applied to the neck portion by moving the cap towards the threaded neck portion or vice versa along their symmetry axes and by rotating the first cap in a direction of engagement with the threaded neck part. A path length of the first cap may be recorded in relation to its initial angular position after which it has completely engaged the complementary threaded neck portion and reached a bottom part of the neck portion.

  • Patent number: 10639771
Abstract: A torque delivering power tool includes a power line driven by a motor. The power line includes an input part with an input shaft, an output part with an output shaft, and at least one gear. The input shaft is drivingly connected to the output shaft via the gear. A motor shaft is drivingly connected to the input shaft via a reduction gearing. A torque meter monitors a torque acting in at least one point along the power line, an angle meter monitors an angular rotation in the power line, and an index meter monitors absolute angular positions of the input shaft or the output shaft. A control unit receives information from the angle meter, torque meter and index meter, and controls a torque output of the motor according to a mapping function corresponding to an angular index position dependent torque transmission over the power line.

  • Patent number: 10562163
Abstract: A driving tool includes a flywheel, a driver held to be movable between an initial position and a driving position along an movement axis, a ring member configured to transmit rotational energy of the flywheel to the driver, and a driver moving mechanism configured to move the driver with respect to the ring member from the initial position to a transmitting position. When the driver is placed in the initial position, the ring member is disposed loosely around the outer periphery of the flywheel. When the driver is moved to the transmitting position by the driver moving mechanism, the ring member is frictionally engaged with the driver and with the flywheel, rotated by the flywheel, and transmits the rotational energy to the driver, thereby pushing the driver from the transmitting position toward the driving position.

  • Patent number: 10518397
Abstract: A driving tool including a first mode wherein a mechanical starting control is performed, and a second mode wherein an electrical starting control is performed, where these modes are configured to be switchable. Only in the second mode, if the elapsed time between the on-operation of a trigger and an on-operation of a contact arm does not exceed a reference time T0, then a second actuation portion can be turned to an on-position to perform a driving operation. In the first mode, in contrast to the electric control, without consuming battery power, the driving operation can be performed by the mechanical control that is made by an operational order of the trigger and subsequently the contact arm. Because of this configuration, even if power supply is shut off, the driving operation by the first mode can be continued.
