Abstract: An information handling system (IHS) unambiguously addresses networked devices connected by a local area network (LAN) based network interface controller (NIC) by detecting a device descriptor of LAN-based NIC, determining that the device descriptor indicates a capability for assigning a reserve media access control (MAC) address to the networked device, writing the reserve MAC address in the LAN-based NIC of the networked device, and associating the reserve MAC address with the networked device in an inventory data structure for the IHS.

Abstract: An example system for distributing a workload of an application includes a class identifier that identifies a remotely instantiable class in an instruction. Execution of the instruction includes processing a workload. The example system also includes a distributor that selects a remote node to process a portion of the workload, sends a message to the selected remote node to cause (i) the selected remote node to instantiate the remotely instantiable class and (ii) the selected remote node to process the portion of the workload by invoking a method of the instantiated class, and receives a result of the processed portion of the workload.

Abstract: Machines, systems and methods for identification of a consumer are provided. The method comprises capturing a unique identifier (ID) associated with a computing device, wherein the computing device is configured to access content stored on one or more content servers; and associating the unique ID with tracking data associated with the computing device, wherein when the computing device submits a request to a content server to access content, wherein in response to retrieving at least one of the unique ID or the tracking data of the computing device, the computing device is identified and content pages accessed by the computing device are tracked by a machine that is aware of the association between the unique ID and the tracking data for the computing device.

Abstract: An network controller provides both network controller and management controller functionality. Accordingly, the system host sees, in a single device, both network functionality as well as management functionality. The integration may reduce chip count and provide a more cost effective as well as power efficient platform solution for the network and management functions in a larger system, such as a server with multiple network controllers and multiple network ports.

Abstract: A method and system for optimizing power consumption of a data center by dynamic workload adjustment. At least one candidate workload solution for the data center is generated. Each candidate workload solution represents a respective application map that specifies a respective workload distribution among application programs of the data center. Workload of the data center is dynamically adjusted from a current workload distribution to an optimal workload solution. The optimal workload solution is a candidate workload solution of the at least one candidate workload solution having a lowest sum of a respective power cost and a respective migration cost. Dynamically adjusting the workload of the data center includes: estimating a respective overall cost of each candidate workload solution, selecting the optimal workload solution that has a lowest overall cost as determined from the estimating, and transferring the optimal workload solution to devices of a computer system for deployment.

Abstract: An auditing system and method are used to capture and report an interactive client journey between a web-browser and a website. Instantiation of control code at an end-user computing device, typically initiated in response to a tag embedded in a website, initiates capture of server and request headers from the perspective of the locally-executing web-browser. The control code causes the sending of an uplink journey report to a cloud-based processing server that uses the report to interpret the server and request headers to imply real-time interactions between the end-user, the web-browser executing on the computing device and the web-server. Client-side capture provides for easy installation of control code that can be delivered directly from a content distribution network. The processing server correlates the server and request headers with predefined flagged events related to at least one of operation of the web-server and data processing at the web-server.

Abstract: Systems and methods for creating a database of geofences and registering geofences, with each geofence in the database being associated with an IP address, preferably an IPV6 address. Each geofence is defined using at least one geographic designator, preferably real property boundaries. Entitlements can be associated with geofences relating to permissive and prohibitive activities within the geofences.

A service request is received from a service requester in the system. The status of the service is checked as registered in the service registry. In response to the service not having a registered service endpoint or a property of the service falling below a defined threshold, a request is sent to service providers or subsequent service registries to provide a new service and according to the defined threshold. In response to a service provider providing the new service according to the defined standard, the service registry is updated with the new service and responding to the service requester that the service is available. The embodiments allow both direct interaction between the requester and provider or indirect interaction via a service management layer.

Abstract: A method is provided for controlling access to a resource of a Remote User Interface (RUI) server in an RUI client of an RUI system. The method includes sending a request for an RUI page for controlling the resource to the RUI server and receiving the RUI page, generating a connection to a Mutual Exclusion (MUTEX) of the RUI server, which corresponds to the resource, using the received RUT page, and sending a request for MUTEX locking for restricting access to the resource to the RUI server.
