Abstract: A system for extending wireless communication coverage includes a subnetwork comprising a set of interconnected nodes implementing a functionality of access point of one and the same wireless communication network. Abstract: Limiting dual connectivity in a wireless sector served by at least two wireless air interfaces includes monitoring a pairing efficiency metric of wireless devices in the wireless sector. When the pairing efficiency metric rises above a threshold, a maximum number of wireless devices able to attach to one of the at least two wireless air interfaces is increased, and when the pairing efficiency metric falls below the threshold, the maximum number of wireless devices able to attach to one of the at least two wireless air interfaces is decreased. The wireless air interface for which dual connectivity is limited can be a 5G interface, and load is alleviated by limiting dual connectivity thereto.
Abstract: Disclosed are a method of accessing a network in a wireless communication system and an apparatus therefor. Specifically, a method of accessing a network by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system may include receiving, from the network, a skip condition for an access barring check operation for a cell supported by a base station, determining whether the UE satisfies the skip condition for the access barring check operation, determining that access to the network on the cell has not been barred when the skip condition for the access barring check operation is satisfied, and performing the access to the network on the cell without performing the access barring check operation.
Abstract: Methods and devices for configuring an initial active downlink bandwidth part as part of an initial access procedure are provided. In one provided method, a base station broadcasts a synchronization signal block (SSB) that includes a control resource set CORESET) configuration index. The CORESET configuration index is one of a plurality of CORESET configuration indexes, each CORESET configuration index being associated with a respective configuration of a CORESET. Each configuration includes a CORESET frequency size, a CORESET time duration, and a frequency offset of the CORESET with respect to the SSB selected from a set of predefined frequency offsets. The initial active downlink bandwidth part is defined as having the same frequency location and bandwidth as the CORESET. The base station transmits, as part of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) within the CORESET, information indicating scheduling of remaining minimum system information (RMSI) in a physical downlink shared channel (POSCH).
Abstract: In order to support integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network functionality, such as topology formation/adaptation, and access and backhaul link management, capability signaling can be configured and exchanged between the network, parent IAB nodes, and child IAB nodes. This can include messages related to IAB-node distributed unit (DU) function capabilities, IAB-node mobile termination (MT) function capabilities, joint IAB-node DU/MT capabilities, and internal IAB node and network capability management and coordination functions. Additionally, the aforementioned system can comprise an IAB capability manager function to coordinate capability messages between the MT and DU functions.
Abstract: A radio transmitting device and method enables reduction of an increase of CQI memories for the control channel and an improvement of the throughput of the data channel. When multiplex transmission through the control channel and the data channel is carried out and when adaptive modulation is applied to both channels, an MCS selecting section (108) is provided with one CQI table for the data channel and CQI tables for the control channel, and a table selecting MCS determining section (201) selects one of the tables depending on the transmission bandwidth of the terminal and determines the MCS of the control channel while looking up the selected CQI table.
Abstract: A cellular communication system is disclosed in which a base station operates a cell which has a supplementary uplink portion (e.g. on a different frequency and/or using a different technology). The base station broadcasts an offset for user equipment (UE) in its coverage area to assist the UE performing cell selection. Specifically, the UE determines; based on measurements for the cell, the offset, and capability of the UE to communicate using the supplementary uplink portion, whether the cell of the base station is an appropriate candidate for cell selection such that: if the UE is capable of communicating using the supplementary uplink portion then the UE performs cell (re)selection based on the offset; and if the UE is not capable of communicating using the supplementary uplink portion then the UE disregards the offset in its cell (re)selection.
