    Abstract: A high speed container placement apparatus is provided for use in combination with a high speed filling equipment for consumer products, such as instant coffee. A container separating device introduces groups of containers to a container placement and removal device for sequencing therethrough. The individual members of a group are transferred from a high speed annular turntable of the container placement and removal device to separate stationary work positions on a deck plate where they undergo a processing step such as filling the container by weight with an appropriate amount of product. Following this processing step, the containers are removed from their respective stationary work positions and returned to the high speed annular turntable to be ultimately discharge from the container placement and removal device. Simultaneously, the next group of containers is fed into the apparatus to replace the fully processed group.

    Abstract: A receiving arrangement is disclosed for filling an anaesthetic medium from a supply vessel into the charging chamber of an anaesthetic apparatus. The supply vessel is connectable to the arrangement by means of a coupling piece. The arrangement includes a receiving structure having an input opening for receiving the coupling piece therein and a connecting part disposed adjacent the receiving structure. The connecting part includes channels communicating with the charging chamber for conducting the anaesthetic medium to the latter. A closure piece is slidably mounted in the receiving structure to slide between a first position opposite the ports and a second position whereat the closure piece is displaced away from the ports. A resilient biasing spring biases the closure piece into the first position.

    Abstract: An arrangement for limiting the filling of tanks and for aeration and ventilation of tanks in which a portion of the tank volume acts as a pressure-compensation space for temperature changes, has an aeration and ventilation arrangement opening into the aeratable and ventable filler neck, said arrangement having a filling vent which determines the maximum allowable liquid level and an operating vent to take over aeration and ventilation of the pressure-compensation space with a sealing arrangement, such that the operating vent is sealed off by the action of a spring when the tank cap is removed, and when the tank cap is attached, it is thereby opened against the spring pressure. Operating ventilation is controlled by a valve integrated into the aeration and ventilation line which valve can be actuated against spring resistance by a plunger rod.

    Abstract: A hydraulic control apparatus, more particularly for operating a motor vehicle clutch release mechanism, comprising a master cylinder, a slave cylinder and a conduit connecting the master cylinder to the slave cylinder. A leakproof quick-connect connector is placed between the master cylinder and the slave cylinder, preferably at the end of the conduit where it connects to the master cylinder or the slave cylinder, one member of the connector forming part of the master cylinder or slave cylinder. The apparatus, after assembly, is filled with hydraulic fluid, the two members of the connector being held momentarily engaged. After filling, the connector is broken, and the filled components are shipped to a user. After installation of the apparatus for operation of a mechanism such as a clutch release mechanism, the two connector members are reconnected, and the connector members having been provided with a one-way locking member can no longer be separated such as to preserve the integrity of the system.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for pouring molten metal in a neutral atmosphere into an ingot mold, a trumpet funnel for bottom poured ingots or a tundish box for a continuous caster or like vessel is disclosed wherein the receiving vessel is closed to the atmosphere by a closure having an opening therein through which the molten metal is poured. A ceramic sleeve may be positioned in said opening and wherein the normal atmosphere is replaced by vaporized hexamethylene or cyclohexane as it is sometimes called. The closure with the opening through which the molten metal is introduced into the receiving vessel is positioned on top of the receiving vessel and is engaged by a pouring nozzle in an airtight manner. The closure is provided with break lines or scores that permit the edge portions of the closure to be moved in hinged relation thereto when the closure is pushed downwardly into the receiving vessel to a point on or near the surface of the molten metal.

    Abstract: A system for automatically dispensing stock solutions is disclosed, comprising a dispenser, pipette keeping and washing units and a control unit. The respective pipette keeping and washing units have different types of pipettes. First, the control unit selects the most appropriate pipette according to the type and amount of mixture of stock solutions to be prepared. The dispenser then receives the selected pipette from the corresponding pipette keeping and washing unit and is detachably fitted with the appropriate pipette to feed a predetermined amount of stock solution into a receptacle by manipulating the pipette. Having finished dispensing, the dispenser transfers the used pipette back to the corresponding pipette keeping and washing unit. On completion of the transfer, the control unit causes the pipette keeping and washing unit to wash the transferred pipette.

    Abstract: An apparatus for simultaneously filling a set of microcups includes a corresponding number of storage vessels having capillary outlets projecting into the microcups. The distance between the outlets and the bottom of the microcups is adjustable so that the filling quantity of the microcups can be modified depending on the requirements. For discharging fluid out of the storage vessels into the aligned microcups, diaphragms are used which are connected directly to the storage vessels or to auxiliary vessels cooperating with the storage vessels and are acted upon by a pressure plate located above the diaphragms. By pushing the pressure plate against the diaphragms, an overpressure is caused above the liquid within the storage vessel so that at first an excessive amount of liquid is discharged into the microcups. Upon release of the pressure, the diaphragms return to their initial position thus drawing in the excessive amount of liquid.

    Abstract: An environmentally safe protection device is provided to contain and store both fill hose spillage and underground tank overfill of gasoline and diesel fuel. The containment and protection device has a fill tube and an auxiliary vapor return tube to accommodate Stage I Vapor Recovery. The containment device also has a reservoir to contain overfill from the underground tank and spillage from the fill hose. A special valve assembly automatically drains motor fuel from the reservoir into the underground tank when the tank is at least partially empty and prevents upward passage of motor fuel and vapors into the reservoir when the tank is overfilled. A dual lid arrangement is provided to prevent water and debris from contaminating the fuel in the reservoir.

A fold-down arm with suction cups grabs the front bag of a vertically oriented stack of bags and folds the top portion of the bag down over a drum. A Duplex system may be utilized wherein two sets of the above mentioned parts are located parallel to one another and which discharge filled bags concurrently into a sealing machine.
