Abstract: A cartridge for use in an aerosol-generating system is provided, including a liquid storage portion including a housing configured to hold a liquid aerosol-forming substrate, the liquid storage portion including at least two parts in fluid communication with each other; a first part of the liquid storage portion including a heater assembly, a first capillary material, provided in contact with the heater assembly, and a second capillary material in contact with the first capillary material and spaced apart from the heater assembly by the first capillary material; and a second part of the liquid storage portion including a container configured to hold the liquid aerosol-forming substrate in liquid form to supply the liquid to the second capillary material.

Abstract: An infrared source is arranged relative to support for bread product and operates to direct IR energy to the bread product. A light source is arranged relative to the support and operates to illuminate the bread product and a camera operates to capture images of the bread product. A processor receives the images from the camera. The processor compares successive images received from the camera. Based upon the comparison, the processor operates the IR source to achieve a predetermined toasting level of the bread product.

Abstract: A modular framework for a grill and oven includes surfaces for food preparation, storage bins accessible from above, and cabinet storage accessible laterally. Modular elements of the framework may incorporate receiving sites with locating and restraining features and other attachments complementary to fixtures found on commercially available barbeque grills, such as standardized mounting flanges and gas plumbing. An oven chamber beneath the food preparation surfaces or the grill receiving site may include a rotisserie assembly. Since 36 inches above the ground or a floor is a prevalent standard height for food preparation surfaces, a cooking chamber accessed laterally and situated below such a food preparation surface would require a user to bend, stoop, or kneel to access vessels or a rotisserie spit operating in the chamber. The invention includes a rotisserie frame with an extendable spit so that foods on the spit can be accessed with less bending or stooping.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for remotely controlling a robotic welding system over a long distance in real time are disclosed. One embodiment is a method that includes tracking movements and control of a mock welding tool operated by a human welder at a local site and generating control parameters corresponding to the movements and control. The control parameters are transmitted from the local site to a robotic welding system at a remote welding site over an ultra-low-latency communication network. The round-trip communication latency over the ultra-low-latency communication network is between 0.5 milliseconds and 20 milliseconds, and a distance between the local site and the remote welding site is at least 50 kilometers. An actual welding operation of the robotic welding system is controlled to form a weld at the remote welding site via remote robotic control of the robotic welding system in response to the control parameters.
Abstract: A thermal increase system includes a cavity, a first electrode disposed in the cavity, a second electrode disposed in the cavity, and a self-oscillator circuit that produces a radio frequency signal that is converted into electromagnetic energy that is radiated into the cavity by the first and second electrodes. The self-oscillating circuit includes the first electrode and the second electrode. In an embodiment, the first electrode is a first plate in a capacitor structure and the second electrode is a second plate in the capacitor structure. The cavity and a load contained within the cavity operates as a capacitor dielectric of the capacitor structure. A resonant frequency of the self-oscillator circuit is at least partially determined by a capacitance value of the capacitor structure.

Abstract: Disclosed is an induction burner ignition system that implements an induction burner located external to the fire pot. The induction burner can be controlled by a controller to start and stop according to a predetermined heating algorithm, and can further provide heat via heat sinks in contact with the induction burner. Because the induction burner is located external to the fire pot, it is easily repairable or replaceable and avoids the harmful atmosphere of the fire pot. The induction burner also provides more uniform heating than conventional hot rod technology to improve the pellet heating process.
