  • Patent number: 10576994
Abstract: Autonomous systems, such as vehicles being operated in a self-driving mode, may allow for human occupants to be inattentive to the operation of the system. However, events may occur that require a human user to perform an action. Systems and method are provided that enable an autonomous system to determine whether the system requires, or will require, a user action and whether the user is or is not attentive. If an action is required and the human is not attentive, an alerting protocol is executed to cause the system to perform actions that enable the user to be alerted, such as to enable the, now attentive, user to be able to perform the action.

  • Patent number: 10559211
Abstract: A network computer system provides a service instruction to a computing device. The service instruction can include offers, such as a service request to pick up and transport a user, and recommendations, such as a movement recommendation encouraging the service provider to relocate to another geographic area. The network computer system remotely monitors the computing device to receive a current position of the computing device as the service provider travels within a geographic area. The network computer system remotely monitors the computing device to receive a service state of the service provider. The network computer system periodically determines whether the service provider is making progress towards a target of the service instruction based on the current position of the computing device and a set of progress conditions, including determining whether the service provider satisfied the set of progress conditions in response to a change in the service state.

  • Patent number: 10543847
Abstract: A database of high risk locations is formed and high risk causal factors for the high risk locations determined. Driver behavior is monitored at the sites in the database using data collection devices such as electronic logging devices or mobile phones to see if the drivers exhibit the same specific behaviors that are considered contributing factors to specific accident types at risk of occurrence at those sites. Warnings are provided to drivers approaching the specific sites to prompt behavioral changes which may further be monitored by the data collection devices.

  • Patent number: 10490307
Abstract: Provided are systems, methods, and media for assisting incontinent subjects. An example method includes receiving sensor readings from a sensor to obtain pressure readings from a bladder or bowels of a subject. A machine learning algorithm is executed to determine when incontinence of the subject is expected to occur. The machine learning algorithm establishes threshold(s) at which to notify an autonomous system, the subject, or a caretaker, in which are established based on a correlation between the received sensor readings and a frequency of undeterred accidents of the subject. An electronic warning is transmitted to the autonomous system, the subject, or the caretaker of the subject, indicating that incontinence is expected to occur in response to detecting at least one sensor reading that exceeds a threshold. Feedback is obtained and the threshold is adjusted via the machine learning algorithm based on the received feedback.
