  • Patent number: 9401079
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for converting a control track designed for use with a number and/or type of haptic output devices to be used with other numbers and/or types of haptic output devices. For example, a computing device may convert the control track into another control track that can be applied to other types and/or numbers of haptic output devices. The converted control track may be compatible for use with a smartphone or other system that includes a different number and/or type of haptic feedback devices than the system for which the haptic track was originally designed. In this manner, the user of the smartphone or other system may experience haptic feedback using a device that is different from another haptic feedback system for which the control track was originally designed for use. The conversion may occur locally at the smartphone or other system and/or remotely at another device.

  • Patent number: 9394751
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods include a racker device and a catwalk structurally arranged to move a tubular or stand about a drilling rig site. A sensing arrangement is cooperatively associated with at least one of the racker device and the catwalk and is configured to sense an aspect of a tubular while the tubular is being handled at the drilling rig and output a signal representative of the aspect of the tubular. A tubular validation system is configured to receive the sensed aspect of the tubular obtained by the sensing arrangement and determine a specification characteristic of the tubular based on the sensed aspect. This may be compared to specification standards to determine whether the tubular or stand should be discarded.

  • Patent number: 9375201
Abstract: A medical imaging device that uses electromagnetic or acoustic information to generate a patient image is remotely maintained. A set of operational characteristics for the device is maintained by a maintenance system disposed remotely from the device. Data from sensors disposed local to the device are received over a network at the maintenance system. A set of parameter measures is derived from the received data and analyzed in comparison with the set of operational characteristics to identify a predicted malfunction of a component of the device. The maintenance system is thus able to initiate a repair of the medical imaging device by generating an alert in response to identification of the predicted malfunction.

  • Patent number: 9346398
Abstract: A vehicle turn signal canceling system with means to recognize that a quantified turn has been made in order to deactivate the signaling condition. The system includes a microcontroller and an inertia sensor which measures the lateral or side force created when the vehicle turns left or right. The automatic function cancels the turn based on the side force as follows: at the time the turn signal is activated, the system records the referenced lateral or side force (the “reference point”); second, when the side force exceeds the reference point, plus a pre-determined side force, the unit accumulates exceedance time; and third, when the exceedance time reaches a pre-determined period of time, the turn signal status is then changed to “cancel” and the signaling condition is deactivated.

  • Patent number: 9296265
Abstract: A tire pressure monitoring device is equipped for attaching to a wheel of a vehicle provided with pneumatic tires. The device measures the tire air pressure present in the pneumatic tire or a change of the tire pressure. An electrical circuit controls the tire pressure monitoring device. A memory stores a program for the electrical circuit. A first transmitter operates in a first frequency range for transmitting data out of the tire pressure monitoring device to a first receiver located outside the tire pressure monitoring device. In the memory initially a basic version of the program is stored, out of which multiple different versions of the program for multiple vehicle types can be developed. Subsequently, a fitting full version for a selected vehicle type is created in that program parameters intended for the selected vehicle type are subsequently stored in the memory of the tire pressure monitoring device.

  • Patent number: 9299246
Abstract: An aspect of the present disclosure facilitates reporting results of processing of continuous event streams. In one embodiment, a matching condition indicating a pattern of interest as a part of an alert definition in relation to a set of continuous event streams is received, with the occurrences of said pattern of interest being desirable to be reported as corresponding alert instances. Also, a suppression condition associated with the pattern of interest is received, with the suppression condition indicating the specific occurrences of the pattern of interest that are not to be reported as corresponding alert instances. Accordingly, a sequence of occurrences of the pattern of interest is determined in the set of continuous event streams. For each occurrence in the sequence of occurrences, an alert instance corresponding to the occurrence is generated only if the suppression condition is not satisfied for the occurrence.
