  • Patent number: 10993612
Abstract: A method is disclosed for improving accuracy of visual field testing in head-mounted displays. The method includes retrieving a visual field testing pattern for a head-mounted display, the visual field testing pattern including icons displayed at respective locations in a visual field of the head-mounted display. The visual field testing pattern is generated on the head-mounted display. Data is retrieved from a tilt sensor, located at the head-mounted display, for detecting degrees of head tilt of a user wearing the head-mounted display and the degree of head tilt is determined. A comparison is made between the degree of head tilt of the user to a first threshold degree. In response to the degree of head tilt of the user meeting or exceeding the first threshold degree, a recommendation to the user is generated for display on the head-mounted display.

  • Patent number: 10969594
Abstract: An article includes a hollow enclosure defining a void. The void has a first section and a second section separate from the first section. An electronic component is housed in the first section and the second section of the void. A low pressure mold material is molded into the first section of the void and cured around a first segment of the electronic component to encapsulate the first segment of the electronic component. A support seal is inserted into the second section of the void adjacent a second segment of the electronic component. The support seal defines a sealing barrier on one side of the low pressure mold material that limits the flow of low pressure mold material out of the first section of the void.

  • Patent number: 10959613
Abstract: An OCT system for measuring a retina as part of an eye health monitoring and diagnosis system. The OCT system includes an OCT interferometer, where the interferometer comprises a light source or measurement beam and a scanner for moving the beam on the retina of a patient's eye, and a processor configured to execute instructions to cause the scanner to move the measurement beam on the retina in a scan pattern. The scan pattern is a continuous pattern that includes a plurality of lobes. The measurement beam may be caused to move on the retina by the motion of a mirror that intercepts and redirects the measurement beam. The mirror position may be altered by the application of a drive signal to one or more actuators that respond to the drive signal by rotating the mirror about an axis or axes.

  • Patent number: 10962800
Abstract: An eyewear system for supporting lenses in front of a person's eyes includes a resilient or malleable frame having two opposing ends each fixed with a lower frame and an upper frame that each include two rims mutually affixed at a central bridge. The frame further includes two elongated temples that project rearwardly away from the frame, and two nose pad mounts with nose pads that each projects rearwardly away from one of the lower rims. As such, with the lenses each engaged with the rims, the lower rims and the upper rims sandwich and retain the lenses therebetween. A bridge coupler attaches with the upper bridge and the lower bridge to lock together the relative position of the upper bridge and the lower bridge to retain the lenses within the frame. Interchangeable parts can attach to the nose pad mounts, frame and temples to provide a unique appearance.

  • Patent number: 10952606
Abstract: An optical measurement system and method measure a characteristic of a subject's eye. The optical measurement system receives from an operator, via a user interface of the optical measurement instrument, a begin measurement instruction indicating the start of a measurement period for objectively measuring at least one characteristic of the subject's eye. Subsequent to receiving the begin measurement instruction, the optical measurement system determines whether a criterion associated with the tear film quality of the subject's eye is not satisfied. In response to determining that the criterion is not satisfied, the optical measurement instrument takes one or more corrective actions to measure the characteristic of the subject's eye under a condition wherein the criterion is satisfied.
