  • Patent number: 7316098
Abstract: The present invention is a framing component interconnecting device that is particularly useful for interconnecting a spanning member and its supporting components. While the device may be used in a number of ways to facilitate frame construction, the preferred mode of use is to pre-attach it at the bearing points of a spanning member during pre-assembly of the spanning member. Because the device is not obtrusive while it is in what is referred to herein as a “non-deployed configuration,” the device thus attached to a spanning member does not hinder or complicate storing, transporting, and handling the spanning member. The device incorporates an anchor strap and connecting flaps that can be deployed in order to interconnect the spanning member to its supporting component once the spanning member has been raised into position. In its deployed configuration, the device anchors, orients, braces, and interconnects one framing component to another.

  • Patent number: 7237368
Abstract: An anchor system for attaching a series of structural members to a wall comprises an elongate horizontal track and a plurality of anchor plates. The horizontal track has a pair of spaced apart sidewalls defining therebetween an upwardly facing channel with a restricted opening. The anchor plates each include an enlarged head portion, nailing plate and a relatively narrow strap extending between the head portion and the nailing plate. The head portion is sized to fit within the channel and engage the sidewalls to retain the anchor plates at selected longitudinal positions. The strap is sized to pass between the sidewalls to position the nailing plate normal to the track for attaching a structural member thereto.

  • Patent number: 7238406
Abstract: A template assembly for use in the production of a variable depth building wall surface, which may be simulative of multiple units separated by mortar joints, such as a simulated brick, stone, tile, or mosaic surface. The template assembly is formed of a backing sheet which is releasably attached to a substrate formed of nonwoven spunbond polyester material, which may be fiberglass reinforced. The substrate is a unitary sheet having a plurality of upwardly extending strips connected by a plurality of sidewardly extending strips. The strips define a plurality of openings within which simulated building units may be formed. A first layer is applied to a wall surface, the template backing is removed and the template adhered to the first layer, and then a second layer is applied over the template. When the template is removed, those areas corresponding to the template strips will be recessed from the second layer.

  • Patent number: 7207122
Abstract: An apparatus for applying lap siding including a main body chassis, a lap siding clamp member, an exposure rod, and a lap siding rest platform. The main body chassis includes a main body base plate with a siding clamp rod support member and a siding backing member positioned opposite and substantially parallel to the siding clamp rod support member. The siding clamp includes a threaded siding clamp rod which adjustably engages the siding clamp rod support member, and has a clamping head attached to its inner end. The exposure rod extends substantially perpendicularly upwardly from the main body base plate. The lap siding rest platform is substantially parallel with the main body base plate and is attached to the exposure rod in a manner adapted to allow for vertical adjustment thereof to a predetermined height above the main body base plate.
