  • Patent number: 7182457
Abstract: An improvement in or relating to spectacles comprising a frame made of a formable material that may be shaped at elevated temperatures, and lenses that are attached to the frame so as to cover a major part of a user's visual field, wherein the formable material is fixed in form and soft and bendable when in an unformed, original state, and is formable at elevated temperatures to form the frame in a configuration that is shaped to the user'face. When the material returns to a temperature of the original state, the frame retains the configuration and is somewhat bendable. The frame includes attachments for positioning the lenses in a predetermined position on the frame to obtain a predetermined distance relative to the eyes and eye lashes of the user.

  • Patent number: 7177082
Abstract: A lens array 4 is formed as an erect 1:1 imaging lens by superimposing two lens plates 40 and 40 together. Each lens plate 40 consists of a number of micro lenses 41 which are regularly provided at a predetermined pitch and in a two-dimensional manner. This lens plate 40 is for example made by press molding the ultraviolet curing resin in a soft condition using a transparent mold and by irradiating the ultraviolet light on the ultraviolet curing resin from outside for hardening. Since the lens array 4 is provided with micro lenses 41 in rows in a sub-scanning direction, deterioration of an amount of light level resulting from the displacement between a light axis of the lens and an image sensor 6 is not generated.

  • Patent number: 7175276
Abstract: A quick-coupled and adjustable temple for glasses includes a coupler defining a forward opened receiving cavity and having two short shafts vertically projected from an upper and a lower front end of the coupler for engaging with two shaft holes correspondingly provided at a lateral outer end of an adjacent rim of the glasses; and a temple being provided closely behind an inner front or proximal end with a centered coupling member for engaging with the receiving cavity on the coupler, and at the inner front end with a sideward projection. The temple is connected to the rim via the coupler by sliding the coupling member into the receiving cavity of the coupler to tightly fit therein. The temple could be vertically pivotally turned about the engaged coupling member and receiving cavity to different angular positions relative to the rim to meet a wearer's preference or head configuration.

  • Patent number: 7158307
Abstract: An illumination method and system use a light source and illumination optics to illuminate a pattern generator. The illumination optics can include at least two devices. For example, if first and second diffractive and/or refractive devices are used, one can be a pupil defining element (PDE) and one can be a field defining element (FDE). In another example, a third diffractive or refractive element can be used to make light entering the illumination system uniform. When only two are used, the PDE forms one or more light beams having a defined profile. The FDE directs the one or more light beams having the defined profile, such that each directed beam substantially corresponds in size and shape to a desired illumination area(s) on the pattern generator. The directed beams are directed to impinge substantially only on the desired illumination area(s).
