  • Patent number: 7260894
Abstract: A scissor apparatus including a first section and a second section pivotably connected to each other. Both the first section and the second section have a blade end and a handle end. The scissors also include a stop member attached to the handle end of the first section and a rotation assembly on the first section. The rotation assembly attaches the handle end to the blade end. The rotation assembly allows the handle end to be rotated into at least two positions. A method of using the scissors apparatus, the method including the steps of holding a portion of hair to be thinned, and running an open pair of scissors through the hair portion, wherein the scissors are locked in a rigid, open position by a stop mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7159498
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved miter box for guiding a handheld portable circular saw. The miter box facilitates several conventional workpiece trim cuts using a handheld portable circular saw, including 45 degree and 90 degree straightcuts, as well as 45 and 90 degree straightcuts with a 45 degree undercut. The invention includes an I-beam that is formed from a rigid base plate having opposing first and second base plate edges disposed along its elongated length. A first and second flange can be respectively attached to the opposing first and second base plate edges. Each of the flanges can include a pair of opposing support faces. One or more transverse guide members can extend either 45, 135, or 90 degrees from one support face of the first flange to another support face of the second flange. The transverse guide member(s) and the support faces provide a friction reduced medium by which the bottom of a handheld portable circular saw's shoe can glide with greater ease and stability.

  • Patent number: 7100287
Abstract: A lawn trimming device attachable or attached to the power take off end of a line trimmer primary unit to be powered by the line trimmer. The device includes a hood with a downwardly facing opening to allow the opening to be placed parallel to the ground, the hood defining a cutting cavity. A coupling of the hood to the line trimmer primary unit is provided and a shaft is included. A cutting element rotatably mounted relative to the hood from the shaft is provided and wherein the shaft is engageable to the line trimmer primary unit to derive rotational power from the line trimmer primary unit. The cutting element is positioned within the cutting cavity of the hood adjacent the opening. A hovering fan is also preferably included within the hood.

  • Patent number: 7073261
Abstract: A cut and grab shearing head for pruning shears or loppers which includes a laterally extending protuberance mounted on one of the jaws of the shears with this laterally extending protuberance having a bottom surface which can be located directly adjacent a resting ledge on the other of the jaws of the shears. Usage of the shears will permit a severed piece of vegetation to be grabbed between the bottom surface and the resting ledge when the jaws are moved from an open position to a closed position. The length of the protuberance is selected so as to leave a pair of spaced apart typical cutting sections which can be utilized in the conventional manner to cut vegetation and not clamp the vegetation.
