  • Patent number: 9985738
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for interference mitigation of an open-access node. The method includes determining, at the open-access node, whether uplink interference from a mobile entity is above a threshold. The method includes adjusting a transmission power to trigger a hand-in of the mobile entity in response to determining the uplink interference is above the threshold. The method includes handing-in the mobile entity from a first cell in response to adjusting the transmission power. The method includes redirecting the mobile entity to a second cell different from the first cell.

  • Patent number: 9204345
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for socially-aware cloud-based control of a network device are disclosed. An embodiment includes operating the network gateway to provide, to a visitor, a first level of access to a network; determining at least one relationship between the visitor and an owner of the network gateway, wherein the relationship is determined between a cloud-based identity of the visitor and a cloud-based identity of the owner; and reconfiguring the network gateway to provide a second level of access to the network to the visitor, wherein the second level of service is based upon the determined at least one relationship.

  • Patent number: 8547852
Abstract: A communicating device capable of transmitting packets to a destination device via any of a plurality of adjacent devices, has a first measuring unit for measuring a first quality of a link between the communicating device and the destination device for a first period of time, a second measuring unit for measuring a second quality of a link from the communicating device to the destination device for a second period of time shorter than the first period of time, a first selector for selecting an adjacent device from the plurality of adjacent devices based on the measured first quality when transmitting a new packet to the destination device, and a second selector for selecting an adjacent device from the plurality of adjacent devices based on the measured second quality upon failure of transmitting the new packet.

  • Patent number: 8180899
Abstract: A method for configuring an IP address to receive broadcast or multicast data flow which modifies the bind( ) Application Programming Interface (API) to survey available local interfaces to determine their ability to be configured to receive data from a particular IP address, configure a interface to receive the IP address if it is so configurable, bind the IP address to that interface. The modified bind*( ) API may interact with one or more interfaces to see if each interface is capable of being configured to the IP address. Alternatively, the modified bind*( ) API determines the configurability of interfaces by consulting the access control list. Policy based routing rules may be implemented so that the modified bind*( ) operation configures the highest priority interface based upon policy parameters.
