Abstract: In a paper/film composite structure, the film is made of a low substituted cellulose ether having a molar degree of substitution with alkyl and/or hydroxyalkyl groups in the range of 0.05 to 1.3. The paper/film composite structure can be delivered to the waste paper recycling process without previously removing the film portion. The strength of film is increased without adding to the manufacturing cost. The paper/film composite structure is inexpensive and eliminates the risk of film rupture during the working, transporting and use stages.
Abstract: Cavities in a thin natural wood plate material are filled with a polymer compound to provide softness and folding endurance the thin natural wood plate material. The surface of the thin natural wood plate material is not entirely covered by filling the polymer compound.
Abstract: A process for making a textured coating on a substrate and compositions for such coatings are disclosed wherein coating mixtures comprising un-expanded micro-capsules and a plastisol or other suitable resins are applied to the substrate and subsequently heat treated to expand the micro-capsules within the coating. The expanded micro-capsules create an aesthetically pleasing surface texture in the coating while retaining the desired wear-resistant properties of the coating.
Abstract: A self-organized magnetic array includes a plurality of magnetic primary nanoparticles are arranged on the substrate in a self-organized magnetic array. A plurality of magnetic interstitial nanoparticles are positioned between at least some of the primary nanoparticles in the self-organized magnetic array. A method of making such an array is also provided.
