  • Patent number: 9959345
Abstract: Methods and systems for searching for and retrieving video content via fingerprint matching are described. In some example embodiments, the methods and systems access an index of reference fingerprints, such as quantized values associated with multiple values calculated from patches of a frame, that are associated with sequential frames of known video content. The methods and systems may receive a search query that includes a group of query fingerprints associated with sequential frames of video content presented at a client device, access the index, compare the group of query fingerprints to reference fingerprints of the index, determine that the group of query fingerprints match the reference fingerprints of the index, and identify the video content presented at the client device based on the determined match.

  • Patent number: 9953232
Abstract: In real biometric systems, false match rates and false non-match rates of 0% do not exist. There is always some probability that a purported match is false, and that a genuine match is not identified. The performance of biometric systems is often expressed in part in terms of their false match rate and false non-match rate, with the equal error rate being when the two are equal. There is a tradeoff between the FMR and FNMR in biometric systems which can be adjusted by changing a matching threshold. This matching threshold can be automatically, dynamically and/or user adjusted so that a biometric system of interest can achieve a desired FMR and FNMR.

  • Patent number: 9940577
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to finding semantic parts in images. In implementation, a convolutional neural network (CNN) is applied to a set of images to extract features for each image. Each feature is defined by a feature vector that enables a subset of the set of images to be clustered in accordance with a similarity between feature vectors. Normalized cuts may be utilized to help preserve pose within each cluster. The images in the cluster are aligned and part proposals are generated by sampling various regions in various sizes across the aligned images. To determine which part proposal corresponds to a semantic part, a classifier is trained for each part proposal and semantic part to determine which part proposal best fits the correlation pattern given by the true semantic part. In this way, semantic parts in images can be identified without any previous part annotations.

  • Patent number: 9933257
Abstract: A wall area estimation system generates an estimated wall area measurement of a building based on the received roof measurements (e.g., those generated by, received from or found in a three dimensional model of the roof) and a reference distance. The reference distance is a measurement indicative of a distance between a reference point on the roof and a ground surface. This reference distance may be used to determine how for down to extend the walls of the building (e.g., to a ground level) when building a three dimensional digital model of the building to aid in generating wall area measurements. The resulting wall measurements, roof measurements, measurements of areas missing from the wall used to generate a wall estimate report, or a combined roof and wall estimate report including various different identifiers indicating the different features and measurements based on the three dimensional model.

  • Patent number: 9934423
Abstract: Techniques for identifying prominent subjects in video content based on feature point extraction are described herein. Video files may be processed to detect faces on video frames and extract feature points from the video frames. Some video frames may include detected faces and extracted feature points and other video frames may not include detected faces. Based on the extracted feature points, faces may be inferred on video frames where no face was detected. The inferring may be based on feature points. Additionally, video frames may be arranged into groups and two or more groups may be merged. The merging may be based on some groups including video frames having overlapping feature points. The resulting groups each may identify a subject. A frequency representing a number of video frames where the subject appears may be determined for calculating a prominence score for each of the identified subjects in the video file.

  • Patent number: 9911053
Abstract: Provided is a technology which enables early removal from a tracking target of an object unnecessary to be tracked and which, together therewith, when the tracking target is temporarily in a state of being not detected, enables continuous tracking of the relevant tracking target without removing it from the tracking target. A detection unit 2 detects, as a tracking candidate, an object included in an image by using image processing. A corresponding degree calculation unit 3 calculates a corresponding degree which is index representing a probability that the detected tracking candidate corresponds to the tracking target registered as an object to be tracked. When having determined that it is unnecessary to track the tracking target based on an evaluation value calculated by using the corresponding degree, a decision unit 4 deletes the registration of the object to be tracked with respect to the relevant tracking target.
