Patent number: 9836787Abstract: One or more financial accounts associated with a user are designated for balance monitoring and balance display. Balance increments are then defined and a unique balance indicator image, symbol, or display, is associated with each defined balance increment. Patent number: 9672567Abstract: Rooms, structures, vehicles, and other objects can be accurately diagrammed, often without performing a physical on-site inspection. Photographs of a room, structure, vehicle, or other object are uploaded to a computer having a processor. A base calibration measure is determined for a room, structure, vehicle, object, or component thereof, depicted in the photographs using at least one known dimension for items observable in the photographs. The base calibration measure is then used to determine dimensions of other areas, items, or objects depicted in such photographs, and to create at least one scale diagram of the subject matter of the photographs. Damages areas of the structure/vehicle/object can be assessed from the scale diagram. The scale diagram can then be used to calculate appropriate insurance payment amounts for damage claims.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2014Date of Patent: June 6, 2017Assignee: ESTIMATICS IN THE FOURTH DIMENSIONS, LLCInventors: Douglas Thomas, Steven D. Patent number: 8781943Abstract: The trading of interest rate swaps or other interest rate derivatives gives rise to mismatch exposure. This can be offset by a series of FRA trades. Rather than conducting a series of exposure neutral trades, FRAs can be bought or sold for the entire amount of a trader's reset exposure. To hedge the offset trades, a series of IMM FRA trades are conducted. The relative size of the IMM contracts will be determined by the distance in time from the IMM quarterly contract settlement date. A system is disclosed for performing offset trades and IMM hedges. The embodiments allow for non-neutral trading and subsequent hedging brings trading back to a neutral position.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2007Date of Patent: July 15, 2014Assignee: ICAP Management Services LimitedInventor: Mark Andrew Weingard

Patent number: 8589272Abstract: A system and method are provided for facilitating the amending of syndicated loans. Authorized users are registered in connection with their respective funds invested in the loan. Fund registration data is received for each fund and includes the fund holding amount and whether the fund is of the single or dual signature type. Authorized users may vote supporting, opposing or conditional with regard to the proposed amendment. A calculation is performed to anticipate the voting outcome before the amendment deadline. If the amendment is anticipated to pass, the conditional votes are converted to supporting votes. Typical embodiments provide for an Internet-enabled interface through which authorized users may enter or change their vote while monitoring the real-time status of the amendment. Agents may be automatically provided fund consents for each fund ending up with a supporting vote in a passing amendment. Funds may be automatically notified of the consent fee earned.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2012Date of Patent: November 19, 2013Assignee: LendAmend LLCInventors: Tejs Broberg, Ron Silverton, Matt Cornue, Brian Bentow

Patent number: 8538784Abstract: A system is disclosed for determining a cost of workers compensation insurance for a selected time period based upon monitoring, collecting and communicating data representative of the risk's business characteristics, whereby the cost is adjustable by relating the business characteristics to predetermined standards. The system predetermines a risk profile and a base cost of workers compensation insurance based on said risk profile, monitors a plurality of data elements representative of an operating state of the risk or a payroll modification during the selected time period, collects selected data elements out of the plurality of data elements when said ones are determined to have a pre-selected relationship to the risk's business operations, consolidates the selected ones for identifying a surcharge or discount to be applied to the base cost, and produces a final cost for the selected time period from the base cost and the surcharge or discount.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2010Date of Patent: September 17, 2013Assignee: Guard Insurance GroupInventors: Carl J Witkowski, John H Richardson

Patent number: 7966254Abstract: Method and system for credit decisioning using activity based costing and compartmental modeling. Credit product profitability for a financial institution using credit scorecards is improved by providing an analysis that results in a recommended credit cutoff score for a particular loan product. The selected cutoff score is determined with input including pass and bad rate parameters for the pertinent scorecard, workflow analysis for the loan process, compartmental modeling of the workflow, and activity based costing (ABC) for the workflow. In some embodiments, data related to portions of the analysis for a particular scorecard is saved for re-use, so that a new cutoff score for a particular type of loan can be determined relatively quickly and easily if only the financial institution's costs have changed.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2003Date of Patent: June 21, 2011Assignee: Bank of America CorporationInventor: Daniel J.
