Abstract: A light assembly includes a housing with a mounting bracket extending from an upper surface, a circuit board, a light source provided on the circuit board, and a cover with an aperture in a bottom surface for light from the light source to pass through. The housing includes a side wall defining an interior space configured to receive the circuit board, and a plurality of cutouts formed in the sidewall. The cover includes a tab and at least one cap, both extending from the bottom surface of the cover, with the cap extending farther than the tab. The circuit board is positioned in the housing, with the cover closing the interior space such that the tab and cap each coupled to one of the cutouts, the tab and the cutout defining a gap through which wires connected to the circuit board extend, while preventing light from exiting through the cutouts.
Abstract: An apparatus includes a light emitting diode (LED) chip; a laser light source; a front heat sink including first and second holes; a lens arranged to extend over the first hole; a back heat sink; and an insulating circuit board including a third hole, the circuit board sandwiched between the heat sinks such that the second hole and the third holes are aligned. The LED chip is mounted in a surface of the circuit board facing the front heat sink, and arranged such that it aligns with the first hole and the lens. The laser light source is provided in the back heat sink and arranged such that it extends at least partially through the second and third holes.
Abstract: A method and device for variable-beam illumination are disclosed. The device has a light source, a first reflector segment, and a second reflector segment. The first segment has a first parabolic cross section to produce a first light distribution having a wide-angle light distribution. The second segment has a second parabolic cross section to produce a second light distribution that is narrower than the first light distribution. At least one of the first and second segments is movable between first and second positions. At least a portion of the light is reflected to effectuate the first light distribution when the at least one of the first and second segments is in the first position. At least a portion of the light is reflected to effectuate the second light distribution when the at least one of the first and second segments is in the second position.
