  • Patent number: 5440810
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for loading, transferring, and spreading a sheet of laundry onto a conveyor. One aspect of the invention is to provide a clamp which has a pivot arm adapted to releasably grip a top corner portion of the sheet. The pivot arm is movable between a forwardly extending first position in which the corner portion of the sheet is gripped and a second position closer to the conveyor than the first position. A spreader mechanism spreads apart the top corner portion of the sheet and an opposite top corner portion of the sheet. Another aspect of the invention is to provide a pair of such clamps each having a pivot arm adapted to releasably grip a corresponding top corner portion of the sheet. The clamps are moved laterally apart to spread the sheet and returned to the receiving position after the pivot arms release the sheet.

  • Patent number: 5357699
Abstract: A free-standing, ergonomically adaptable support stand for needleworkers and similar craftspersons has a single support leg, which may be arranged for positioning on either the right or left of a seated artisan, an adjustable work support arm, a rotatable work holding clamp and an adjustable pattern holder. A floor-mounted base, which may be placed to the right or left of the legs of a seated artist, has a portion which passes under the chair and allows a work piece to be conveniently positioned without obstruction to the feet or legs and permits the craftsperson to sit in a comfortable and relaxed position. All movable parts are provided with friction adjustments which, once set, require little attention. Being of wooden construction, the stand is light-weight, easily managable and maintenance-free.

  • Patent number: 5353533
Abstract: A improved collapsible ironing table assembly (10) of the type comprising a flat table top (11) having a peripheral framing member (12) extending therearound, a pair of spaced apart channels (13) extending longitudinally of the table top and secured to the underside surface thereof, and a pair of diagonally crossed pivotal support legs (17, 17') supporting the table top and movable between an extended working position and a retracted out-of-use position, the improvements being such that the table assembly can be collapsed to a compact approximately linear storage configuration in which the pivotal legs (17, 17') lie flat alongside one another nested essentially within the recess formed between the opposed channels (13) on the underside of the table top, the table when fully collapsed, having an overall depth which approximately equals the depth of the table top peripheral framing member.
