  • Patent number: 7672281
Abstract: A method of communicating in a wireless ad-hoc network is disclosed. The network has a plurality of nodes, including a requesting node, configured for wireless communication therebetween. Each node transmits a situational awareness message to adjacent nodes. The message informs other nodes of a geographic location of the transmitting node. Each adjacent node, upon receiving the message, re-transmits the message to nodes adjacent the adjacent nodes when the transmitting node is within a predetermined re-transmitting distance. The requesting node transmits a situational awareness request to the nodes in the network. Each node in the set of nodes transmits a situational awareness response to the situational awareness request. The situational awareness response provides a geographic location of said each node in the set of nodes. Each node in the network that receives the situational awareness response re-transmits the situational awareness response along a transmission path toward the requesting node.

  • Patent number: 7660274
Abstract: A method is provided for efficiently allocating a transmission period in a WLAN system. An access point (AP) transmits a PSMP message providing a downlink period and an uplink period provided to each station (STA), and at least one sub PSMP frame indicating a period of at least one of a downlink and an uplink for an STA requiring additional resource allocation. After exchanging data with the AP in the downlink and uplink periods provided by the PSMP frame, if there is a need for additional resource allocation, the STA receives the at least one sub PSMP frame and exchanges data with the AP in the period provided by the each sub PSMP frame.

  • Patent number: 7577167
Abstract: In a method for adaptive transmission timing control, the overlooking of a base path at the side of the base station that occurs when the transmission timing offset amount changes to the extent of falling outside the current delay-profile calculation range, and the side of the mobile station fails to demodulate the control information that contains the transmission timing offset amount, is prevented. A limit is put on the transmission timing offset amount applied in a single transmission timing control iteration. Together with setting the transmission timing offset value such that the main component of the delay profile calculated from the pilot signal transmitted with offset transmission timing falls within the time range of when the current delay profile was calculated, the time range for calculating the next delay profile is shifted such that a delay profile calculated from the pilot signal transmitted with offset transmission timing falls within the shifted range, starting at the earliest component.

  • Patent number: 7493102
Abstract: A method for determining charges in real time for value-added services in a telecommunication network, having an intelligent network structure, in which a caller selects a value-added service by dialing an associated destination number. This destination number is intercepted in an intelligent network element of the telecommunication network and is converted into a special access number for the value-added service. A connection is established between the intelligent network element and the value-added service provider through the use of this destination number. The value-added service provider transmits the applicable rate for the use of the requested value-added service to the mobile telephone network operator in the form of a new destination number for the requested value-added service. The new destination number is evaluated in the intelligent network element and a connection is established between the caller and the value-added service with the new destination number at the stated rate.
