Patent number: 6019587Abstract: A stamper plate attaching/detaching device of an injection mold for forming an optical disc substrate wherein a stamper plate is supported in a cavity which is formed by a cavity side disc cavity plate, a movable disc cavity plate, and a cavity ring. The stamper plate attaching/detaching device is equipped with a section for holding the outer circumferential rim of the stamper plate by means of the inner circumferential rim of the cavity ring, which inner circumferential rim is larger than the outer diameter of the stamper plate. A plurality of pairs of permanent magnets, which have magnetic poles in parallel with respect to a central line are buried, with phase differences, on the same radial line of the cavity side disc cavity plate and the movable disc cavity plate. The cavity ring rotates between a first angle position and a second angle position in relation to the cavity side disc cavity plate and the movable disc cavity plate.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 1996Date of Patent: February 1, 2000Assignee: Seikoh Giken Co., Ltd.Inventors: Mitsuo Takahashi, Katsuyuki Yasuda

Patent number: 5849339Abstract: Foam forming techniques are capable of permitting foaming of biodegradable resin to be positively and uniformly accomplished to provide a biodegradable resin foam with satisfactory quality. The biodegradable resin including foam is made of biodegradable resin a main biodegradable resin ingredient of 100.degree. C. or more in melting point and a low-melting biodegradable resin ingredient of 100.degree. C. or less in melting point. The biodegradable resin foam is produced by placing a starting material of at least biodegradable resin and a substantial amount of moisture in a heated and pressurized environment, releasing the starting material from the environment to foam the biodegradable resin, and subjecting the foamed resin to forming by a forming mold. An apparatus for producing the foamed biodegradable resin foam includes a pressure adjusting chamber, an air-permeable forming mold, a pressure reducing tank and an injection machine.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 1996Date of Patent: December 15, 1998Assignee: Suzuki Sogyo Co., Ltd.Inventor: Motoyasu Nakanishi

Patent number: 5843486Abstract: A polymer injection molding unit is disclosed having a mold wall which includes a portion made of an infrared transmissible material which is radiated by an external infrared radiation source. Due to the passage of the infrared radiation through the infrared transmissible material, the infrared radiation is not absorbed by the mold wall and the mold wall is not substantially heated. The infrared radiation passes through the mold wall and is absorbed by the molten polymer material near the mold wall. As a result, the temperature of the molten polymer material rises and its viscosity is lowered to thereby enhance the shape transcription of complicated or fine shapes present on the mold wall, without increasing the temperature of the mold wall.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 1996Date of Patent: December 1, 1998Assignees: Yasuo Kurosaki, Rexroth Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yasuo Kurosaki, Isao Sato

Patent number: 5811141Abstract: An injection molding machine has a pair of C-shaped tension members interconnecting the fixed bracing plates at location above the axis of force action in the mold closing and injection operations. The mold closing unit is mounted on one of these plates and a mold part on the other plate while the mold closing unit acts on the movable mold part. According to the invention, the fixed plates are also interconnected by lower tension members which can be C-shaped or can be tension rods so that access to the space between the mold parts remains available, the upper and lower tension members being matched as to elongation under the generation of the mold closing and injection forces.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 1996Date of Patent: September 22, 1998Assignee: Krauss-Maffei AGInventors: Herbert Pickel, Walter Wohlrab

Patent number: 5785111Abstract: An apparatus for precisely and adequately filling each of upper and lower flask bodies with molding sand equipped with upper and lower compressed air jet mechanisms (which fluidize molding sand at side and lower parts in a substantially horizontal part of each of upper and lower blow heads) and upper and lower guide members (which guide molding sand so as to disperse it toward the entire area of end openings of the blow heads after the molding sand in each blow head has first been focused on the blow head's central part) projectingly provided in the upper and lower blow heads, and a blow head for use in such an apparatus. Thus, the molding sand in the upper and lower blow heads is almost entirely fluidized by jetting compressed air from the upper and lower jet mechanisms when molding sand is blow-squeezed into upper and lower flask bodies.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 1996Date of Patent: July 28, 1998Assignee: Sintokogio, Ltd.Inventors: Masahide Noguchi, Kazuo Kotaka

Patent number: 5783225Abstract: An apparatus for plasticizing thermoplastic synthetic plastics material includes a screw (13) which rotates within a housing (12) and plasticizes the synthetic plastics material which is supplied by a supply mechanism (27) through an intake opening (10) of the housing (12) of the screw (13). The housing (12) of the screw (13) is provided on its inner wall with at least two wide pockets (23,24). These pockets (23,24) extend in longitudinal direction of the screw (13) and are separated from each other by ribs (25,26) which are narrow, when compared with the width of the pockets. One pocket (24) is open towards the intake opening (10), the other pockets (23) are closed by at least one rib (25,26) of the housing (12) of the screw (13) with respect to the intake opening (10). In order to improve filling of the screw (13), the supply mechanism (27) for the synthetic plastics material to be treated cooperates with the screw (13).Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 1997Date of Patent: July 21, 1998Inventors: Helmut Bacher, Helmuth Schulz, Georg Wendelin
