Abstract: Among other things, a dispensing device is described herein. A sensor component of the dispensing device includes an emitter (e.g., of an emitter array) in optical communication with a detector array for sensing objects disposed between the emitter and the detector array. An object detector is configured to identify a presence of an object between the emitter and the detector array based upon a readout signal generated by the detector array. A calibration component is configured to recalibrate the object detector responsive to determining that an obstruction is present between the emitter and the detector array. The recalibration allows the detector array and the emitter array to detect the presence of an object regardless of the obstruction. A material (e.g., soap, sanitizer, etc.) may be dispensed from the dispensing device responsive to detecting the presence of the object.

Abstract: A fluid dispenser assembly having a fluid reservoir (R), a dispenser member (5), and a dispenser orifice (62). The fluid reservoir (R) includes a piston (42) movable in leaktight sliding contact in a slide cylinder (41) over a maximum stroke between a start position that corresponds to a substantially full state of the reservoir, and an end position that corresponds to a substantially empty state of the reservoir. The dispenser assembly has a detector (35) arranged outside the fluid reservoir (R) and acts remotely to detect a determined physical property that enters into a small detection field that covers an alert position of the piston that is closer to the end position than to the start position. The piston (42) carries the detectable determined physical property and the detector (35) delivers, in response to a detection of the physical property, at least one alert signal perceptible to a user.

Abstract: A beverage dispenser and methods of beverage dispensing include a dispenser with a beverage valve and a purge valve. The beverage valve is connected the dispenser body and is actively operable to control a flow of a base beverage into a flow path of the dispenser. The purge valve is selectively operable to control a flow of a purge substance into the flow path. A nozzle is configured to mix a flavoring from a flavoring nozzle with a base beverage from the beverage valve prior to dispensing a mixture of the flavoring and the base beverage from the nozzle.

Abstract: Liquid dispensers for bottles comprise a dispensing chamber having small portals at either end. Dropwise addition of flavoring or coloring liquids, such as vermouth or bitters, to alcoholic beverages using those liquid dispensers is also disclosed.

Abstract: Tool electrodes for and methods of electrical discharge machining are provided. In one exemplary aspect, a tool electrode for machining features into a workpiece is provided that allows for increased machining speed without sacrificing the quality of the machined features. Moreover, a tool electrode is provided that eliminates or reduces the high cost associated with customized tool electrodes. In particular, a tool electrode is provided that includes a plurality of electrode elements arranged and spaced apart in a digitized matrix representative of a tooling shape for machining features into a workpiece. The plurality of electrode elements are spaced apart from one another and arranged in the digitized matrix by digitizing an analog electrode tool configured to machine the feature into the workpiece or a volume of the feature to be machined into the workpiece.

That upper portion includes an upper front wall with a first height, a higher upper rear wall, a first side neck wall, a second side neck wall, and a top wall. A condiment pack and a toothed track are located within the lower cavity. Moving the false bottom toward the top wall causes the toothed track to rupture the condiment pack. The top wall has a slot for condiment in the ruptured pack to leave the container. At least one serrated edge is disposed along the slot to enable spreading the released condiment.
