  • Patent number: 7215347
Abstract: Display comprises static pixels and dots (individual element) arranged in a predetermined manner. Dynamic pixels are generated dynamically, comprising dots selected from at least two adjacent static pixels. Overlapping of dynamic pixels on the static pixels creates an enhanced resolution at the human's eyes. By adjusting the light emitting area and space of dots in a static pixel, maximum optimized brightness in a white balance equilibrium with good contrast can be obtained in finding an optimal ratio between the non light emitting area (black mask or black barrier ribs) and the light emitting area.

  • Patent number: 7091986
Abstract: A display including static pixels and dots (individual element) arranged in a predetermined manner. Dynamic pixels are generated dynamically, comprising dots selected from at least two adjacent static pixels. Overlapping of dynamic pixels on the static pixels creates an enhanced resolution at the human's eyes. A weighted dot rendering method can be performed for all static and dynamic pixels of a low resolution inventive display to be displayed in an additive way with the viewing perception of an enhanced higher resolution display. By adjusting the light emitting area and space of dots in a static pixel, maximum optimized brightness in a white balance equilibrium with good contrast can be obtained in finding an optimal ratio between the non light emitting area (black mask or black barrier ribs) and the light emitting area.

  • Patent number: 6720975
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product are provided for antialiasing during rendering in a graphics pipeline. Initially, a primitive of vertex data is received in a graphics pipeline. Next, a super-sampling operation is performed on the primitive of vertex data ufilizing the graphics pipeline. Further, a multi-sampling operation is performed on the primitive of vertex data utilizing the graphics pipeline.

  • Patent number: 6628297
Abstract: A first method is performed by a computing device to generate rect objects for visible portions of objects of a display that have changed from a previous to current update cycle. The first method comprises dividing a visible portion of at least one of a plurality of overlapping objects that has changed from a previous to current update cycle, into at least one rect object. In dividing the changed visible portion, the computing device uses a graphical hierarchy defining precedence for display of the objects. By determining changed areas of the display, the computing device can be programmed to avoid using processing power on portions of the display that have not changed from a previous to current update cycle or that is not visible in the display. In addition, the computing device can determine the portions of the display requiring update relatively rapidly through use of the rect object(s).

  • Patent number: 6426751
Abstract: Methods and apparatus that process a front-end editable text file—a feature file—that specifies features for a font, and in particular to an OpenType™ font. The specified features are parsed and stored in the font as font data. The feature file contains simple logic statements for the specification of various typographical features, such as layout features, expressed in a high-level feature definition language. The feature file may contain override values for fields in font tables. The feature file can be processed in combination with an existing font file to establish an enhanced font file.

  • Patent number: 6373498
Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus to display an image during a transition of an operating system in a computer system. An image having an image format compatible with the operating system is obtained. Content of a system file corresponding to the transition of the operating system is created using the image in a system directory.

  • Patent number: 6236407
Abstract: The present invention is a process for creating custom graphical images. A computer user activates the process by selecting a base image or set of base images. The base images may be chosen from a library of such images or created by the user directly. The user also specifies a plurality of user data items. These items may include text to be inserted into the custom image, the font, size or style of the text, the desired size of the custom image or other data items specific to the image, such as the color of particular parts. The custom image is then created by configuring transformation operations based on the user supplied data, applying the transformation operations to the base images and assembling the transformed base images to create the custom image. This custom image can then be used by the user in any way that an image created directly by them could be used.

  • Patent number: 6232983
Abstract: An intelligent shape is displayed in conjunction with a CAD application program, wherein the intelligent shape selectively displays positioning and alignment aids on the monitor of the computer to assist a user in operating one or more functions of the host application program. When invoked, the intelligent shape displays plugs and sockets related to the shapes on the monitor and aids the user in positioning, aligning, rotating, and connecting shapes together.

  • Patent number: 6229522
Abstract: A representation of an image is made from a set of image line signals. The method includes producing a plurality of image component values. Each image component value comprises a value derived from least one selected image line signal included in the set of image line signals. The various image component values are arranged into and ordered sequence and this ordered sequence provides a representation of the image with which the set of image line signals is associated.
