Abstract: On a glass substrate, a base layer of indium cerium oxide is deposited, and on this a thin copper-containing silver layer, both produced by means of DC sputtering. On top there is another indium cerium oxide layer, which is produced by means of AC-superimposed DC sputter deposition. This layer system boasts very low surface resistivity combined with high transparency in the visible part of the spectrum, which means it has a high Haacke quality factor.

Abstract: The invention relates to moisture resistant, through-wall, multicomponent copper flashing material and a continuous process for its preparation. Copper sheeting substrate having special properties is laminated on at least one side with fiberglass sheeting having special properties. The fiberglass sheeting is bonded thereto by means of a thin coating of waterbased adhesive, preferably water based polyvinyl emulsion or vinyl acetate emulsion adhesives. A continuous process provides the copper sheeting from a bulk roll to be simultaneously spray coated on both sides with liquid water based adhesive, forcefully engaging and laminating each side with the fiberglass sheeting, air drying and curing the thinly coated adhesive laminated fiberglass sheeting bonded to the copper sheeting. The final multilaminated flashing material has excellent mechanical properties and chemical resistance.
Abstract: A security substrate for a document of value comprises a laminate including a generally transparent core layer and generally transparent outer layers on opposite sides of the core layer. At least one interference filter is embedded within the laminate. The interference filter includes a highly reflective opaque layer on a surface of the core layer and an optically variable thin film multilayer overlying at least a portion of the opaque layer. The interference filter is covered by one of the outer layers.

Abstract: A weatherseal or belt-line seal for a vehicle is formed by extrusion of an olefin-based thermoplastic elastomer or vulcanizate (first TPV) as an elongate body of arbitrary length and cross-section. The cross-section is adapted for use in a particular location in the opening of a structure to be protected against wind and rain, for example around the glass of a window in a vehicle's door, or around the opening (at the periphery) in which the door is closed, so as to present at least one sealing surface against which the glass or door may be abutted to provide a seal against the elements. A slip-coating is co-extruded onto one or more longitudinal sealing surfaces of the body; the slip-coating contains a novel compatibilizer which allows thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) to be chemically bonded to a graft copolymer of polypropylene (PP) and a compound having two anhydride groups. The reaction product of the grafted PP and the TPU effects a thermal bond with the sealing surface of the body.
