Abstract: An improved support bracket which is adapted to be mounted on a utility pole for supporting communication cable which is an integrally formed pair of arms in a generally V shape having outer ends terminating in a pair of reversely curved diverging mounting flanges that receive fastening means for attaching to the pole and the apex portion of the arms has first and second transverse clamping members, one of the clamping members being fixed to the arms and the other clamping member being adjustably movable to form a jaw for holding and clamping a cable between the clamping members. The clamping members are preferably held in pre-assembled form with screw fasteners for ease of use and time savings by installers. An elongated extension arm bracket is reversibly securable to the fixed one of the clamping members and receives a similar movable clamping member at its free end to hold a cable.
Abstract: Open frame shelving includes upright posts including corner posts and center posts, single-depth and double-depth shelves, horizontal shelf supports and backstops. The corner posts have open, box-like, transverse cross sections with rectangular vertically spaced slots in the end walls thereof and with tapered, vertically spaced slots in the spaced inner walls thereof. Each shelf support has tabs at the opposite ends thereof projecting perpendicular to the axis and engageable in the tapered slots of the corner posts. Backstops extend parallel to the shelf supports and have tabs at their opposite ends engageable in the rectangular slots in the corner posts or in similar slots in the center posts. Single-depth shelves are supported between a shelf support and a backstop, and double-depth shelves are supported between two shelf supports, and may be provided with a reinforcing bar extending between the shelf supports.

Abstract: A copy holder which may be placed in-line vertically with a computer monitor to reduce visual fatigue and head turning. A rear edge portion of the copy holder tray is attached to fasteners which are mounted in elongate slots in the side walls for movement of the copy holder tray between a first position within the copy holder for storage of copy and a second position wherein the copy holder tray extends forwardly from the copy holder for displaying copy. The slots are elevated above a desktop so that the copy holder tray is inclined to the desktop at a comfortable predetermined angle, preferably about 22 degrees, when in the second position, with the monitor screen elevated to a comfortable viewing height. In accordance with one embodiment, the copy holder is caused to be received or rest on the shelf of a monitor stand to achieve the predetermined angle. Alternatively, the side walls of the copy holder extend to a height which achieves the predetermined angle.
Abstract: A height-adjustable support has a bearing member for connecting the support to a vehicle. A support member is connected to the bearing member so as to pivotable between a rest position and a support position. A follower is pivotably connected to the bearing member and engages the support member so as to entrain the support member at least in one direction of pivoting between the rest position and the support position. The height-adjustable support also has a drive unit for pivoting the support member. The support is especially suitable for supporting motor homes or trailers.
Abstract: An improved height adjusting mechanism for a swivel chair is equipped with a separable positioning ring block assembly including a ring block piece and an arc limiting piece that can be put together into a ring form. A screw shaft having an elongated groove is provided with two closed ends so that the positioning ring block assembly will effectively be restrained within the groove in adjustment, preventing an adjusting mount from dismount from a shaft tube due to excessive adjustment. Moreover, a peripheral flange is disposed at the bottom of the adjusting mount so that it can be readily coupled to a connecting journal disposed at the top end of the shaft tube.
Abstract: A wrist support apparatus for a person who performs activities requiring repetitive movement of the person's fingers which apparatus includes an elongated, flexible container of cloth and particulate material such as rice disposed within the interior of a tubular-shaped segment. The apparatus provides stable support for the wrist(s) and cooperates with each wrist to gently massage the wrists during finger movement. In addition, the apparatus can be cooled or heated to provide additional therapeutic effects during use. The invention also encompasses a method of employing the wrist support apparatus.
Abstract: An auxiliary cable mounting attachment is disclosed which allows mounting a third communication cable at a position displaced from superjacent power lines and existing communication cables. The attachment clamps to an existing support bar without modification thereto and extends outwardly therefrom to support a clamp engagement for the auxiliary cable.
Abstract: A power seat adjuster includes a rotatable drive shaft with first and second axial ends and an intermediate arcuate portion connecting the first and second axial ends. The first and second axial ends are respectively axially connected to a drive motor gear assembly and to a driven lead screw. A horizontal drive block threadingly engaging the lead screw is rotatably and vertically translatingly mounted in an aperture in a lower track for self-alignment of the drive block with respect to the lead screw. A housing rotatably receives the axial connection between one end of the drive shaft and the lead screw. The drive nut is rotatably and translatingly mounted in a bracket fixed to an upper track for self-alignment of the drive shaft with the lead screw. A drive block engages the lead screw and is mounted for rotation and translation in a link.
Abstract: An adjustable container holder of the present invention comprises a fixed jaw and a movable jaw, the jaws having mutually opposed arcuate surfaces that define an adjustable aperture. An adjusting knob can move the movable jaw toward and apart from the fixed jaw, so that the adjustable aperture defined by the arcuate jaw surfaces can be adjusted to grasp containers having differing sizes.
Abstract: A device for the supportive positioning of objects at different elevations along a vertical post includes a shelf member disposed upon a support arm pivotably secured to a mounting base. Post-engaging brackets are associated with the mounting base, and interact with an adjustable stop protrusion on the support arm to grip an intervening fencepost when the support arm is swung to its lowermost position.

Abstract: A carrier for transporting a pressurized container in the bed of a pickup truck is provided. The carrier is made up of a cradle and a positionable retaining ring attached to a support frame. The frame includes two substantially flat frame support members having angled flanges that form feet. The feet are adapted to overhang the end of the bed of the pickup truck in which the carrier is placed. When a tailgate of the pickup truck is closed, the feet are engaged such that the carrier is secured in place in the bed of the pickup truck and prevented from sliding in any direction during transport. The retaining ring is supported on telescoping rod members to be slidably adjustable to facilitate various sized containers. Optionally, the cradle is provided with a cargo lash that may be racheted to tightly secure the container to the carrier.

Abstract: A device for raising and lowering a pole or other elongated support structure has a stand on which the elongated support structure is mounted. The stand is pivotally connected to a base. An actuator, such as an hydraulically actuated cylinder, raises and lowers the elongated support structure by the use of a control rod which is connected to the stand and to the actuator, and which traverses to cause the stand to pivot relative to the base to raise and lower the support structure.
Abstract: A self adjusting two-piece picture hanger comprising a V-shaped spacer retainer member having angularly aligned through-holes in the respective legs of the V, for angled nail insertion. The second piece is an integral, dual hook member having an extension element, with a nail accommodating aperture. The extension element is adapted to be inserted between the legs of the spacer retainer member and the aperture thereof is brought into internal alignment between the through-holes thereof. At least one spacer element, such as a dimple or bent section, integral with the V-shaped spacer retainer member, keeps the respective legs of the V from compressively engaging the extension element, with insertion of a nail through the aligned through-holes and aperture. The extension element and dual-hook member remain free to pivot on the nail, for gravity induced alignment of the picture, mirror, clock or other item supported by the dual hook member.

Abstract: The support arm of a camera stabilizing device is provided with a tensioning assembly which is mated to the support arm in a fashion which permits continuous adjustment of the geometric relationship between the end points of the tensioning assembly and the remaining structures which comprise the support arm. This can include adjustment of the frame of the support arm, or adjustment of an end point of the tensioning assembly relative to the frame of the support arm using a cable and drum arrangement coupled with a spring of appropriate size and tension.

Abstract: An apparatus for supporting the wrist of a keyboard operator during repetitive keyboard operations is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a bladder having an elongated length and an arcuate cross-section, and enclosed sealed ends. The bladder contains a viscous fluid for supporting the wrist of the keyboard operator when the operator is engaged in repetitive keyboard operations. An outer shell completely surrounds the bladder and contacts the wrist of the operator. The outer shell has an aperture adapted to receive the bladder and remove the bladder when it is desired to wash the outer shell. The outer shell is fabricated from a material that will withstand repeated machine washings and will maintain a fresh odor-free aroma and a pleasant-to-the-touch, itch-free feeling. The viscous fluid contains about between 0.5% to 5.5% hydroxy propyl methylcellulose with the balance being water.
