    Abstract: A system for selectively effecting operation of a copying or facsimile machine in accordance with the textual content of a scanned document. The system includes an optical character reader which generates scanned character code signals representative of characters comprising at least a portion of the text of the document, a memory for storing at least one correlation criterion, and a processor for selectively effecting operation of the copying or facsimile machine in accordance with the correlation of the criterion to the text.
