Abstract: A method for providing automated entry to properties includes placing a lock box or an automated door lock at or near a property. The property is listed as available as an open house on an application running on a portable device. A property manager receives required renter criteria that is required to authorize an unaccompanied visit to the property. A visitor using a portable device can select to indicate a desire to enter the property. Upon the application receiving the visitor request to enter the property, communicating with a credit bureau to pull a credit score for the visitor. Upon rental criteria for the visitor meeting the required renter criteria, the application provides automated entry information to the visitor that allows the visitor to enter the property.

Abstract: Tracking data of objects within a facility may be obtained using a plurality of smart floor tiles. Techniques for installation of the smart floor tiles allow for the generation of information about the relative arrangement of the smart floor tiles relative to one another. This relative arrangement is used in conjunction with information about physical dimensions of the smart floor tiles to generate a mapping that associates particular floor tiles with particular physical locations within the facility.

Abstract: A subscription identifier is communicated between the billing server and subscription server. The billing server receives a subscription identifier text message from the user device. The billing server identifies a carrier server from the subscription identifier text message. The billing server receives an authorization text message from the user device in response to an authorization request text message and charges an account of the carrier server that has been identified. If the charge has been successful, then the billing server transmits a renewal notification text message to the subscription server. The subscription server updates an account having the subscription identifier to reflect a new expiration.

Abstract: A retail shopping facility having at least one public entrance, a customer service area, a product display area, and at least one point-of-sale (POS) station also has at least one scanner configured to remotely and uniquely identify a product previously purchased from the product display area as that product re-enters the retail shopping facility via the public entrance with a customer. That scanner provides corresponding identifying information regarding that returning product to a control circuit that in turn uses that information to automatically process an exchange transaction of the returning product for a substitute product in the product display area such that the exchange transaction occurs without the customer engaging either the customer service area or one of the POS stations.

Abstract: Determining a remaining amount of material in a material package may be provided. First, a weight of the material package may be received in response to the ingress of the material package back into an operations area. Then, based upon a beacon code received in response to the ingress of the material package back into the operations area, a material database may be queried for a material package record. Next, a remaining amount of material corresponding to the material package may be calculated based upon the received weight and data from the material package record found from the material database query. The material package record may then be updated in the material database with the calculated remaining amount of material corresponding to the material package.

Abstract: A wine inventory management system is provided to assist a user in selecting and locating a wine from a wine collection. In one example, a wine inventory management system may comprise a smart cap having an indicator portion and a processor in communication with the smart cap. The processor in communication with the smart cap may comprise a determining module that determines a set of criteria, a matching module that matches wines to the set of criteria to form a wine set, and an illuminating module that illuminates smart caps of the wine set. The smart caps may be illuminated with different colors, light animation patterns, and with different images in some examples.

The application server then determines a plurality of participants associated with the construction project to be included in the draw and transmits the notification to the determined plurality of participants. The application server initiates the draw on the determined date and at least one participant of the determined plurality of participants receives a payment in the draw.

Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, techniques for collecting item preferences of users at a centralized location and propagating these item preferences to users and merchants in an intelligent manner. In some instances, the centralized location is a payment service that functions to both authorize payment instruments of users for costs of transactions conducted at the merchant, and collect and propagate the item preferences to the merchants and the users.

Abstract: Certain exemplary embodiments described herein relate to the field of electronic registration (ER) of purchased products and, more particularly, to improved electronic registration techniques purchase-side and/or return-side handling of recalled items. Certain exemplary embodiments on the purchase-side may help to filter-out products that have recalled been before they are purchased. Certain exemplary embodiments on the return-side may help enable recall return overrides, thus facilitating the acceptance of recalled products even though they might not qualify under an original return/warranty policy. Advantageously, more and more recalled products may be filtered out of circulation through the use of purchase-side and/or return-side recall watch list checking techniques of certain exemplary embodiments. Such purchase-side and/or return-side recall watch list checking may be performed together with or separate from electronic registration techniques in different exemplary embodiments.

Abstract: A payment service is configured to support purchase transactions generated by merchant point-of-sale (POS) devices, wherein each purchase transaction may comprise multiple transaction requests such as authorization requests and capture requests. Each transaction request may be sent to a different one of multiple data centers of the payment service. Upon successfully receiving an acknowledgement from one of the data centers for a transaction request, the POS device designates that data center as the primary data center. Subsequently, all transaction requests for that transaction identify the primary data center, even when the transaction requests are sent to other data centers. At the payment service, the data centers synchronize requests such that the primary data center is informed of all authorizations and is made responsible for performing the capture of the transaction. This allows the primary data center to detect duplicate authorizations and to prevent duplicate captures.

Abstract: Access devices like credit cards and/or check cards have enhanced security features that allow a customer to control circumstances under which their account is accessed. Fraudsters may try to access the account without the knowledge of the consumer set controls, the system takes remedial action with reduced instances of false positives. An account is established for an account holder through a central entity, e.g. an issuer. At least one user is associated with the access device that is established for one or more transactions. Use of the access devices is defined by a set of rules defined by the central entity and are controllable by the customer, including comprising any of the account holder and the user of the account. The customer inputs, controls, and/or updates parameters associated with the customer-controllable rules. Subsequent authorization of the access devices is controlled based on the customer input and other controls.

Abstract: Provided is a system and method for control of bailment inventory is disclosed. The method includes receiving a customer identifier and a bailment item from the customer. A digital identification device is stored with the bailment item. Subsequently, during check-out, the customer identifier is received for a second time and a signal is sent to the digital identification device causing it to alert the attendant, allowing the bailment items to be retrieved.

Abstract: Systems and methods for hierarchical dual-dynamic exception management are disclosed. In one embodiment, the system and method may provide: (1) hierarchical exception modelling, metric algorithms and aggregation; (2) node level exception metric algorithm and high-level status algorithm calculation; (3) node level investigation via “explain” of exception factors (e.g., focusing an analyst on a particular issue); (4) node level tracking workflow management through ability to add commentary, multiple-person signoff, and high-level status calculation overrides; (5) visibility, auditable compliance reporting; (6) dashboard for internal operational analysts/managers with full investigation view; (7) dashboard for external clients with sub views; (8) generic data interface to existing workflow management system; and (9) machine learning component such that the exception metric can be intelligently re-adjusted (for example, if there are too many false positives then make the thresholds more forgiving).

Abstract: Methods and systems related to near field communication (NFC) front ends for point of sale terminals are disclosed. One point of sale system includes an NFC front end communicatively coupled to an antenna, a discrete microcontroller (DM) communicatively coupled thereto, and an applications microprocessor (AP) communicatively coupled to the DM. The DM stores a first software stack for a first NFC protocol, a second software stack for a second NFC protocol, and instructions to process a digitized NFC signal from the NFC front end with the first software stack. The AP stores instructions to instantiate an operating system for the point of sale system, instantiate a master NFC service, and transmit a remote procedure call from the master NFC service to the DM to switch between the first software stack and the second software stack.
