Abstract: Compared to amplitude modulated gyroscopes, frequency modulated (FM) gyroscopes have demonstrated excellent long-term stability. A notable limitation with FM gyroscopes is FM operation can decrease short-term stability. Short-term stability is typically quantified via angle random walk (ARW). The present disclosure provides an FM gyroscope ARW minimization method.

Abstract: A haptic signalizing device comprises a number of piezoelectric elements arranged below a device surface such that mechanical deformations caused by the converse piezoelectric effect in the at least one piezoelectric element make the device surface to move such that the device surface follows the piezoelectric element and a driving circuit configured to cause the converse piezoelectric effect on the at least one piezoelectric element by generating an alternating electric field over the piezoelectric element in a bipolar fashion, that is, consecutively in both the same and the opposite direction with respect to the polarization of the piezoelectric element, to make the piezoelectric element to move beyond its initial position consecutively in both directions.

Abstract: A wind tunnel device may include a waste disposal unit configured to collect fluid from a droplet extractor positioned in a wind tunnel. The waste disposal unit may include a drain line and a liquid trap integrated in the drain line. The liquid trap may be adjustable during operation of the wind tunnel to accommodate different tunnel operating conditions (e.g., wind speeds) such that liquid waste does not backflow into the wind tunnel.

Abstract: Embodiments include apparatuses, methods, and systems for computer assisted or autonomous driving (CA/AD). An apparatus for CA/AD may include a sensor interface, a communication interface, and a driving strategy unit. The sensor interface may receive sensor data indicative of friction between a road surface of a current location of a CA/AD vehicle and one or more surfaces of one or more tires of the CA/AD vehicle. The communication interface may receive, from an external road surface condition data source, data indicative of friction for a surface of a road section ahead of the current location of the CA/AD vehicle. The driving strategy unit may determine, based at least in part on the sensor data and the data received from the external road surface condition data source, a driving strategy for the CA/AD vehicle beyond the current location of the CA/AD vehicle. Abstract: A storage system and method for adaptive scheduling of background operations are provided. In one embodiment, after a storage system completes a host operation in the memory, the storage system remains in a high power mode for a period of time, after which the storage system enters a low-power mode. The storage system estimates whether there will be enough time to perform a background operation in the memory during the period of time without the background operation being interrupted by another host operation. In response to estimating that there will be enough time to perform the background operation in the memory without the background operation being interrupted by another host operation, the storage system performs the background operation in the memory.

Abstract: Parking Brake Mechanism, particularly suited for an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) with a security feature is manually engaged by foot or hand and is automatically disengaged by spring action when the ATV operator presses the vehicle brake pedal to shift the transmission lever into “drive”. The present invention also allows the operator to secure the vehicle with the parking brake engaged. The vehicle brake mechanism is activated and held on by the parking brake unit; therefore, immobilizing the vehicle.
Abstract: A sump drain includes a ring-shaped chamber having an inner sidewall with a diameter of at least about 18 inches and an outer sidewall, and a circular opening between the sidewalls preferably about an inch wide and optionally having a grid cover. Preferably the inner sidewall has a number of ports extending inwardly to radial conduits to a central hub for tying into a pool or spa filtering system, with the central hub operating as a clean out and having a removable cap. Upon installation, plaster substantially fills the space between the chamber and the central hub, such that the sump drain attractively blends in with the pool or spa floor. When installed, the top opening is preferably substantially flush with the pool or spa floor while being safely unblockable. And the sump drain preferably further includes channels both outboard and inboard from the chamber top opening and around the central hub, to help prevent water from passing through the plaster into the shotcrete of the pool or spa.
Abstract: An air conditioning control device stores air conditioning control settings relating to plural users of a vehicle, and controls at least one air conditioner among plural air conditioners of the vehicle in accordance with an air conditioning control setting relating to at least one user among the air conditioning control settings relating to the plural users, and senses a pre-air-conditioning command to operate at least one air conditioner among the plural air conditioners of the vehicle, and, after operation of the at least one air conditioner related to the pre-air-conditioning command is started in accordance with the pre-air-conditioning command, in a case in which turning on of an ignition or turning on of a power supply of the vehicle is sensed, instructs execution of continued operation of the at least one air conditioner related to the pre-air-conditioning command in accordance with the pre-air-conditioning command, regardless of the air conditioning control settings relating to the plural users.

The housing includes a box having an open side and a lid which closes the open side of the box, and the box has a length of the open side which is greater than a maximum length of a projected plane of the cell stack apparatus as viewed from a lateral side of the cell stack apparatus.
