  • Patent number: 6749339
Abstract: This invention is to provide a hydrodynamic bearing assembly, which realizes the high rotation rate in a stable manner and the robust rigidity. The hydrodynamic bearing assembly has a total radial gap of 3 microns or less for preventing the contact in the thrust bearing. The thrust bearing is a pomp-out type one, and the radial bearing has offset grooves on the surface thereof to supply the fluid flow sufficiently to the thrust bearing. The grooves also eliminate a half-whirl. A depth ratio relative to the diameter of bearing is preferably 0.005 or less to avoid the reduced translation rigidity. The radial gap is smoothly enlarged from the center to both ends along the axis, and the shaft is biased to incline the shaft relative to the sleeve, so that the shaft can be rotated with the robust rigidity. Also, a pair of the thrust bearings is provided on both ends of the radial bearing so as to realize the robust rigidity.

  • Patent number: 6745875
Abstract: For releaseable fastening of an annular brake disc on the periphery of a rotatable brake disc carrier, the internal periphery of the brake disc has radially inwardly projecting protrusions and the external periphery of the carrier has grooves receiving the protrusions, wherein the protrusions and grooves are dimensioned circumferentially to provide a spacing gap between each protrusion and a ridge defining its groove. A spacing stem removeably disposed in one of the spacing gaps to fix the disc to the carrier. Axially opposite ends of the stem have shoulders which prevent mutual axial movement between the brake disc and the carrier.

  • Patent number: 6746004
Abstract: A vehicle air spring assembly has a pair of spaced end plates which sealing engage a bladder to form an air chamber. A pair of bead skirts are attached to the end plates to guide the bladder radially outwardly as the air spring is compressed. By guiding the bladder as it expands radially outwardly, the bead skirts control the effective area with respect to the air spring height, thus controlling the dynamic load and dynamic spring rate of the air spring. The bead skirts are formed complementary in shape and nestle together as they move towards one another. This nestling reduces pinching of the bladder when the air spring is compressed during use.

  • Patent number: 6742634
Abstract: To accurately detect a trouble of a magnetic brake (2) by eliminating any effect of a temperature of a location at which an elevator is installed, a temperature sensor (3) is arranged to measure a temperature of the magnetic brake (2). When an armature (2c) has been attracted responsive to a brake release command, the temperature of the magnetic brake is measured as a first temperature, and before the armature returns responsive to a brake actuation command, the temperature of the magnetic brake is measured as a second temperature. The first and second temperatures are compared with each other. When a result of the comparison between the first and second temperatures is determined to be greater than a predetermined value, the magnetic brake (2) is determined to have been locked and hence, to have developed a trouble.

  • Patent number: 6739677
Abstract: A brake control apparatus is configured to suppress fluctuations in the deceleration when transferring from cooperative braking to regenerative braking or hydraulic braking. The brake control apparatus calculates a braking torque command value feed forward component for reaching a target deceleration corresponding to the master cylinder pressure according to an ideal reference model. The brake control apparatus also calculates the braking torque command value feedback component to find a base deceleration for feeding back the difference between the base deceleration and the vehicle deceleration. The brake control apparatus then calculates the braking torque command value by adding the components together.
