Abstract: A helical extension spring is telescoped over, and is supported and guided by, an orthodontic arch wire which is secured to one jaw of a person; and a flexible connector extends between one end of that helical extension spring and the other jaw of that person. The helical extension spring permits the jaws to open and close; but it continuously applies a repositioning force to those jaws which tends to improve the occlusion of those jaws.

Abstract: The invention concerns a method and composition for local application of an active preventive and/or therapeutic agent in the oral cavity by means of a carrier into which the active agent is incorporated. The carrier is an initially mouldable mass which after application is converted into a tough or viscous, elastic consistency.
