According to the invention, the nonreturn valve (48) is respectively arranged between the sprue region (42) of at least the upper diecasting nozzles (40) and a final branch of melt runners (22) in the melt distributor (20) to each of the diecasting nozzles (40).

Each holding furnace may be of an open configuration to allow for uninterrupted flow of the molten metal from the melting furnace. The system may provide controlled delivery of the molten metal to the mold at a desired flow rate or pressure.
