  • Patent number: 4927019
Abstract: A combination needle sheath and sterility package comprising a lower needle cover to surround and protect the distal end of a sterile, double ended hypodermic needle cannula and an upper sleeve to surround and protect the proximal end of the cannula. The upper sleeve can be opened to permit the bore of a conventional hypodermic syringe to be received therewithin, so that the proximal end of the needle cannula can communicate fluidically with the syringe cylinder. By virtue of the needle sheath/sterility package as disclosed herein, the sterility of the needle cannula may be reliably preserved during handling and prior to use, while the possibility of an accidental needle stick during attachment of the cannula to the syringe may be advantageously minimized.

  • Patent number: 4927013
Abstract: There is described a package and method of packaging that provide, in inexpensive form, means for adding accurate amounts of one material to another. The package, which can come as a kit to be added to a lyophilizing bottle and stopper, features a portion that is added to the bottle outlet to confine the material that is to be stored separate from the contents of the bottle. That portion includes a plunger preferably constructed to provide a dual function: that of sealing the stopper against the bottle outlet, and of permanently attaching to the stopper to remove it from the bottle when the plunger is moved within the upper portion. Because of its hollow configuration, the plunger can be used to pour off the resulting mixture.

  • Patent number: 4892194
Abstract: A display package for a cosmetic case having a base containing a cosmetic product and a cover pivotally joined to the base includes a support backing, a pre-formed blister mounted on the backing, and a tongue or strip extending from the blister for securing the case to the support backing. The blister has a main blister portion which is raised from the backing, and an edge flange joined to the main blister portion and secured to the backing. The main blister portion has an open side and defines a pocket for receiving the base of the cosmetic case. The tongue extends through a clearance between the cover and base and has an end portion secured to the backing. The tongue prevents removal of the cosmetic case from the pre-formed blister through its open side. A single strip of flexible, transparent material may be used to form the main blister portion, tongue, and a pair of opposing edge flanges.

A cover panel having tabs with spacing complimentary to the spacing of the notches is placed in the box upon the bottom of the insert with the tabs in the notches. The box may be lined with a plastic bag to provide leak resistance. The bag extends between the side walls of the insert and the side walls of the box and above the top of the box. The cover may also have a sleeve of flexible plastic material. To close the container, the plastic bag is tucked in so that it lies above the bottom of the insert.

  • Patent number: 4881643
Abstract: A carrier strip supports a plurality of nails for use in an explosive powder charge operated setting device. The nails are equidistantly spaced apart and held in bores in the strip. Guidance members, placed on the nail shanks, hold the nails within the strip bores. The heads of the nails project outwardly from one side of the carrier strip. The outside diameter of the nail heads is not greater than the inside diameter of the strip bores, so that the nails can be pushed through the bores out of the carrier strip into a receiving material.
