  • Patent number: 11805571
Abstract: In embodiments of the present disclosure, a method is provided for managing a mesh point. A request is transmitted from a mesh point to a mesh portal, and the request indicates that Reduced Neighbor Report (RNR) information is required. A beacon with the RNR information is received from the mesh portal. A mesh link is established with a target mesh portal based on the beacon with the RNR information. Therefore, the time cost and the data communication of a scanning procedure of the mesh point may be greatly reduced. Further, communications in the scanning procedure are lowered, such that conflicts in the air may be alleviated.

  • Patent number: 11792858
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for wireless communications that support fallback from a 2-step to a 4-step random access procedures. A user equipment (UE) may establish a connection with a base station using a random access procedure. The random access procedure may be a 2-step random access procedure and reduce a number of handover exchange messages. The 2-step random access procedure may include the UE transmitting, to the base station, a first random access message including a preamble and a payload. In some implementations, the base station may receive the preamble but fail to receive or decode the payload. The random access procedure may utilize the received preamble information instead of performing retransmission of the first random access message. The base station may transmit a second random access message to the UE indicating, explicitly or implicitly, a fallback to a 4-step random access procedure for connection establishment.

  • Patent number: 11785561
Abstract: A satellite communications system is disclosed, the system comprising a ground controller, a decode-and-forward (DF) satellite transponder, and a digital high-power amplifier (HPA). The DF is further comprised of a transponder front end including a digital channelizer and a predistorter. The ground controller is configured to transmit multiple-access frequency-division-multiplexed signals to the DF, where the DF is configured to down-convert the signals received at the transponder front end. The digital channelizer is configured to convert the signals received into a single sample steam and feed the stream through the predistorter into the single digital HPA, wherein the HPA is configured to amplify each input sample of the stream in sample-by-sample fashion and generates a discrete output. The DF is further configured to convert the output of the digital HPA to a continuous time signal and up-convert the output with a main carrier frequency for down-link transmission to multiple-access ground users.

  • Patent number: 11765025
Abstract: A method is provided that uses a consistent hashing technique to dispatch incoming packets in a stable system prior to adding of a node. The method uses a hash table and assigns hash buckets in the table to each network node. A set of fields in each incoming packet is hashed and is used to identify the corresponding hash bucket. The packets are then dispatched to the network nodes based on the nodes' hash buckets. During an observation period, the method identifies the ongoing sessions by creating a bit vector table that is used to identify the old and new sessions during a re-dispatching period. The method uses the consistent hashing method and the probabilistic method dispatch the incoming packets such that each packet that belongs to an old session is dispatched to the same old node that has been processing the other packets of the session.

  • Patent number: 11751115
Abstract: Hybrid use of dual policies is provided to improve a communication system. In a multiple access scenario, when an inactive user equipment (UE) transitions to an active state, it may be become a burden to a radio cell on which it was previously camping. In some embodiments, hybrid load balancing is provided using a hierarchical machine learning paradigm based on reinforcement learning in which an LSTM generates a goal for one policy influencing cell reselection so that another policy influencing handover over active UEs can be assisted. The communication system as influenced by the policies is modeled as a Markov decision process (MDP). The policies controlling the active UEs and inactive UEs are coupled, and measureable system characteristics are improved. In some embodiments, policy actions depend at least in part on energy saving.

  • Patent number: 11706665
Abstract: A method of enhanced error handling for 5G QoS operations is proposed. A PDU session defines the association between the UE and the data network that provides a PDU connectivity service. Each PDU session is identified by a PDU session ID, and may include multiple QoS flows and QoS rules. Within a PDU session, there should be one and only one default QoS rule. The default QoS rule indication (DQR) and the QoS flow identifier (QFI) of a signaled QoS rule should not be changed. Two new 5G session management (5GSM) causes are defined: a semantic error in the QoS operation (cause value #83) and a syntactic error (cause value #84) in the QoS operation. The UE should check the QoS rule provided in a PDU session modification command message for different types of QoS rule errors.
