  • Patent number: 10715369
Abstract: At a receiver, errors may occur in estimating phase trajectory based on PT-RS due to a window effect. In order to address the problem of such errors, a transmitter determines at least one location for inserting PT-RS samples into a sequence of a plurality of samples, wherein a first set of the samples comprises a first number of samples at a beginning of the sequence and/or a second number of samples at an end of the sequence, and wherein the at least one location for the PT-RS samples is within a second set of the plurality of samples. The apparatus inserts the PT-RS samples into the sequence based on the determined at least one location and transmits a signal based on the inserted PT-RS samples. A receiver extracts the PT-RS samples and estimates phase errors for data samples in the received transmission based on the extracted PT-RS samples.

  • Patent number: 10660055
Abstract: In one aspect of the teachings herein, a transmitter transmits synchronization signals according to one or more defined transmission characteristics that enable a receiver to distinguish the type of transmitter and/or the type of carrier used to convey the synchronization signals. Different types of transmitters reuse at least some of the same synchronization signal sequences and generation algorithms, but use different transmission parameters to impart one or more recognizable characteristics to the transmitted synchronization signals. In turn, an appropriately configured receiver “knows” which characteristics are associated with which transmitter and/or carrier types. For example, wireless devices operating in a wireless communication network transmit device-generated synchronization signals that reuse at least some of the same sequences used by network base stations for the transmission of network synchronization signals.

  • Patent number: 10645622
Abstract: A user terminal selects small cells in a radio communication system in which a macro cell and small cells are arranged to overlap each other. In the cell selection method of the present invention, a macro base station to form a macro cell carries out the steps of determining the offset value to use in cell selection in a user terminal based on transmission property information of a second carrier in the small cell, and reporting the offset value to the user terminal. Also, the user terminal carries out the steps of measuring the received quality of reference signals from the macro base station and the small base station, receiving the offset value that is reported from the macro base station, and carrying out cell selection based on the received quality that is measured and the offset value that is received.

  • Patent number: 10631288
Abstract: Provided are a method for beamforming training and an apparatus using the same. An STA receives a beacon frame from an AP during a BTI. The STA transmits SSW frames during an A-BFT. The beacon frame comprises an A-BFT length indicating the number of a plurality of SSW slots included in the A-BFT, a FSS field indicating the number of the SSW frames allowed in one SSW slot among the plurality of SSW slots, and information about the type of the SSW frames used in one SSW slot. The information about the type of the SSW frames indicates that the SSW frames are determined to be one from among first type SSW frames and second type SSW frames. The second type SSW frames have a smaller size than that of the first type SSW frames. If the SSW frames are determined to be the second type SSW frames, the FSS field indicates the number of the second type SSW frames that can be transmitted in one SSW slot.

  • Patent number: 10601694
Abstract: In a process by user equipment (UE) to determine a control channel resource, the UE detects a downlink control from a base station. The downlink control channel carries scheduling information of a downlink data channel and comprises multiple control channel logical elements that correspond to the UE and are mapped to one demodulation reference signal (DMRS) antenna port. The UE acquires antenna port information of the DMRS antenna port, an offset, and sequence number information of the control channel logical elements corresponding to the UE, and determines, according to the acquired information, a first control channel resource for sending acknowledgment (ACK)/non-acknowledgment (NACK) information with respect to the downlink data channel corresponding to the downlink control channel.

  • Patent number: 10595290
Abstract: A procedure for synchronization of re-configuration of RRC procedures between the radio base station and the UE is achieved by associating a new configuration to be used by a UE with an additional UE identity. The UE is normally identified by a first UE identity, but is informed in a re-configuration message that the UE also has the additional UE identity. The UE is identified by the additional UE identity when the new configuration is to be activated. Hence, when the radio base station detects that the UE responds to requests, which included the additional UE identity, the radio base station can conclude that the UE has activated the new configuration.
