  • Patent number: 8973234
Abstract: An assembly for collapsing a prosthetic heart valve includes a compression member and a pusher member. The compression member has a first open end with a first diameter, a second open end with a second diameter less than the first diameter, and a tapered wall between the first open end and the second open end. The pusher member has a base adapted to engage an end of the valve. The pusher member and the compression member are movable relative to one another between an initial position in which the base of the pusher member is relatively far from the first open end of the compression member and an operative position in which the base of the pusher member is relatively close to the first open end of the compression member. Movement of the pusher and compression members from the initial position to the operative position radially compresses the valve.

  • Patent number: 8894054
Abstract: The invention is a clamping plate used to stiffen and hold a large, thin workpiece having low inherent stiffness. The clamping plate has a back layer, an intermediate layer and a contact layer. A plurality of grooves, which serve as air channels, is provided in the contact layer and the intermediate layer impart flexibility to the clamping plate. The clamping plate has sufficient flexibility to adapt to the specified contour of the workpiece. The contact layer is placed against the workpiece and vacuum apparatus provides suction through the air channels, which are in flow communication with each other between the two layers, to hold the workpiece against the clamping plate. One or more seals defines a holding area on the contact layer and prevent loss of suction.

  • Patent number: 8882097
Abstract: A system includes a sacrificial board such as a cement board and containment support lid, sometimes referred to as a saw cup, is provided for use with a vacuum hold down support to allow cutting on top of normal suction cups by providing a temporary scorable surface in an assembly that is easily installed and removed, inexpensive to own, use and handle and which enables a user to go directly back to using a CNC machine for final edging and processing of the material without having to go to another location for sawing and without having to deal with heavy and unwieldy plates. Dimensions are such that any penetration of the cutting blade is intentional and will result in controlled scarring of the cement board which does not disable continued use of the saw cup. A one-piece molded saw cup is also illustrated.

  • Patent number: 8864121
Abstract: The present invention describes an adaptive clamp width adjusting device (200) for use in an integrated circuit package process machine. The device (200) includes a travel component (210) and a fixed component (310). The travel component (210) carries a clamp (220a,220b) with an adjustable width and a rotary screw (230a) operable for such adjustment by a driven wheel (232). The fixed component (310), mounted on a base plate (312), includes a motor (320) and a drive wheel (324) attached to the motor shaft. When the device (200) is in a clamp width conversion station (40a), the travel component (210) is aligned above the fixed component (310) so that when the base plate (312) is raised and the drive wheel (324) engages the driven wheel (232), the clamp width is operable to be adjusted by the motor (320) according to a width of a workpiece (W).
