A method for the authentication thereof is also described.

Abstract: The system and method providing enhanced security ballot image records of the present invention includes an enhanced security ballot image tabulator and an enhanced security ballot image audit station. The tabulator processes each ballot of a plurality of ballots to be tabulated to provide an enhanced security ballot image record having diachronically and synchronically coordinated enhanced security ballot image files, each for another ballot of the plurality of ballots to be tabulated. The enhanced security ballot image record may be broadcast upon completion of tabulation and/or simulcast real time during tabulation or otherwise provided such as on a secure media upon completion of tabulation to the public or other parties interested in the tabulation of cast votes. The enhanced security audit station receives the enhanced security ballot image record and analyzes it to selectively identify out-of-bounds diachronic and/or synchronic security parameters.

Abstract: A character Identification method has been proposed to obtain a specific reaction of a tag inside a printed chipless RFID system on a lossy dielectric substrate. The proposed technique is based on the eigenmode resonance to generate weight excitation coefficients and to extract a desired current distribution induced on the tag illuminated by a transmitter/receiver antennas arrays using the SVD-eigenmodes. The proposed methodology is based on techniques such as the proposed regrouping method to create groups of tags and the correlation method applied between a measure receive signal and the receive signal belong the library (or the create database). This method allows the confirmation/or not of the belonging of the tag to a group and the recognition of the measure tag based on two important parameters: the magnitude and the phase of an identification vector. The CIM method allows the user to better distinguish the tag from others, and to improve the independence from the environment.

Abstract: A method of voting that provides an anonymous, verifiable, audit-able, secure, and anti-rigging voter receipt with secrecy and transparency. This voter receipt prints a voter's selection by filling a voter's Unique Voter Number with Signature Letter (UVNS) consisting of a Unique Voter Number and a voter Signature letter, into one of a group of the selections of a ballot. The voter receipt also prints one or more voter selections of other voters' UVNS in the remaining selections of the group of selections of a ballot; The voter receipt can print on paper, record in a memory device, mobile text or email; The voter receipt can verify with a published result of an election; A third party can audit all voter receipts in the election; The method of this application can utilize on an electronic voting (EV) system connected with a local network at a polling station, mobile network or internet.

Abstract: An inspection system of a chip includes a reading device and a determining unit. The reading device is configured to count a number of chips stored in a storage case, the chips associated with a table game and including a chip having a radio tag, read the radio tag while the chips are stored in the storage case, and acquire chip information. The determining unit is configured to compare the chip information of the chips in the storage case with a physical number of the chips in the storage case, determine that there is an abnormal chips among the chips stored in the storage case based on a determination that the counted number of the chips does not match a physical number of the chips in the storage case, and output a result associated with an indication of the abnormal chip.

Abstract: An automated teller machine includes a processor, a wireless communications module, a cash dispenser, and a memory. The memory stores instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the automated teller machine to detect, using the wireless communications module, that an authentication token capable of wireless communication has been brought into communications range of the module and communicate with the authentication token to cryptographically authenticate the token and to receive information identifying an account associated with the token. Then, without receiving user-input providing a second authentication factor the automated teller machine initiates processing of a withdrawal of a specified quantity of cash from the account. The processing of the withdrawal includes determining, based on an automated assessment of compliance with one or more policies, that the withdrawal is executable without further authentication.

Abstract: An interactive tire wall includes a vertical wall that is formed with a plurality of openings. Tires are mounted in the openings on the vertical wall, and placards are mounted on the vertical wall, in which each placard is adjacent and corresponds to a respective tire. A machine-readable code is formed on each placard and corresponds to a respective one of the tires. The code is capable of being read by an imaging device contained in a portable device that is connected to the Internet. When the machine-readable code is read by the imaging device, data in the machine-readable code directs a browser or a software application stored on the portable device to a web site containing purchasing information for the selected tire. A method of purchasing tires is also provided.

Abstract: A smartcard includes a fingerprint sensor and a detector circuit comprising at least first and second electrodes that are insulated from each other and that form an open circuit. The first electrode and the second electrode is arranged in such a manner that. When a user applies a first finger on the fingerprint sensor and uses a second finger to grip the smartcard, the first finger contacts the first electrode and the second finger contacts the second electrode so as to form a loop that closes the open circuit. The detector circuit further comprises a filter circuit connected to the first electrode and to the second electrode, a generator arranged to generate first signals across the terminals of the filter circuit, and processor means arranged to acquire second signals and, from the second signals, to detect whether the first and second fingers include a fake finger.

Abstract: A system or method may implement an overdraft prediction analysis to predict whether an account overdraft is about to occur. The overdraft prediction analysis may be based on: 1. customer account data, such as current account balance, historical balances, historical withdrawals, historical deposits balance trends, and the like; 2. account transaction data, such as routine or recurring account transactions, timing of transactions, amount, deposit or withdrawal transactions, and the like; 3. location data, such as locations of past purchases or payments; and 4. time and date data, such as dates and times of past transactions. Other factors, such as credit score, loan activities, social data, or the like also may be used for the overdraft prediction analysis. Once an overdraft situation is predicted, the system or method may provide options for the users to avoid or mitigate the potential account overdraft.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for preserving the anonymity of a provisional ballot cast by a voter in an election whose eligibility to vote in the election is not yet determined comprises including a machine-readable identification marking representing an identification code associated with the voter on the paper card utilized by a voting device associating the identification code represented by the machine-readable identification marking with the contest choices stored in the results database. In this manner, upon a determination that the voter is either eligible or ineligible to vote in the election, the contest choices of the voter can be included in or excluded from, respectively, the results of the election by identifying the identification code associated with the voter and including or excluding, respectively, the contest choices associated with the identification code.

A door system includes a user interface to receive interlock configuration data input from a user, the interlock configuration data to define an interlock condition to be satisfied before a first door is to undergo an operation, the interlock condition associated with a current state of a second door. The door system includes a first wireless transceiver to receive a signal from a second wireless transceiver associated with a second door. The method includes a door operation controller to at least one of (1) implement the operation of the first door in response to a request when the current state of the second door satisfies the interlock condition, (2) ignore the request, or (3) not execute the operation of the first door in response to the request when the current state of the second door does not satisfy the interlock condition.

In one implementation, the system may include at least one processor that may be configured to store IDs for a plurality of tags including at least a first owner ID and a second owner ID for a particular tag; associate first information of the particular tag with the first owner ID at a time when the first owner of the particular tag is recorded as owning the tag; record a transaction transferring ownership of the particular tag from the first owner to a second owner; and after the transfer of ownership, associate second information of the particular tag with the second owner ID, and prevent the first owner from accessing the second information.

The controller is configured to start a reading operation by activating the reader and causing the antenna to start emitting radio waves upon the sensor detecting the user near the placement region.

Abstract: A system for effecting electronic payments via multiple payment schemes from a single payment integrated circuit (IC) card includes a payment IC card conforming to a payment card standard, the payment IC card being issued with a plurality of primary account numbers (PANs) from the payment card standard; a wallet server storing account details of one or more payment schemes with which a user has an account; and a vendor payment system configured to accept transactions using the payment card standard. The payment IC card is operable to transact with the vendor payment system using the payment card standard. The vendor payment system is operable to provide to the wallet server one of the PANs issued to the payment IC card to effect a financial transaction via one of the payment schemes with which the user has an account.
