    Abstract: A manhole embodiment that includes a metal top ring, metal removable cover, and a flexible sheet steel skirt welded to the top ring. The skirt has a stiffening and footing flange rolled laterally inwardly or outwardly from the bottom rim of the skirt to increase the manhole lateral strength and provide a footing for the very bottom of the manhole.
