  • Patent number: 11610563
Abstract: A screen is presented on a display of a user device, which includes an element occupying less than an entirety of the screen. A second screen is then presented on the display, which includes a second element occupying less than an entirety of the second screen. The user device receives an input that requests that a previously presented element be presented within the second screen next to enable comparison of the previously presented element with the second element. The user device presents, on the display of the user device and responsive to receiving the input, a contemporaneous view of the element next to the second element within the second screen.

  • Patent number: 11562207
Abstract: The disclosure notably relates to a computer-implemented method of machine-learning. The method includes obtaining a dataset including 3D modeled objects which each represent a respective mechanical part and further includes providing a set of neural networks. Each neural network has respective weights. Each neural network is configured for inference of 3D modeled objects. The method further includes modifying respective weights of the neural networks by minimizing a loss. For each 3D modeled object, the loss selects a term among a plurality of terms. Each term penalizes a disparity between the 3D modeled object and a respective 3D modeled object inferred by a respective neural network of the set. The selected term is a term among the plurality of terms for which the disparity is the least penalized. This constitutes an improved method of machine-learning with a dataset including 3D modeled objects which each represent a respective mechanical part.

  • Patent number: 11557084
Abstract: Techniques for generating aligned, augmented reality views are disclosed. In some embodiments, an estimate of a floorplan of a three-dimensional space is first generated based on one or more received views of the three-dimensional space from a camera located in the three-dimensional space. A camera pose of the camera in the three-dimensional space is next determined based on generating a corrected floorplan from the estimate of the floorplan based on foreknowledge associated with the floorplan. Display of a rendering having the determined camera pose is facilitated in an actual view of the camera, resulting in an aligned, augmented reality view.

  • Patent number: 11551370
Abstract: A building appraisal system conducted by a remote inspector located away from a building. A remote user connected to a user on site can share images, measurements and other data to conduct an examination of the building such as an appraisal. A processor coupled to an image sensor can be configured to receive a gross floor area of the building. Images of an interior room of the building are stored in memory. The processor determines a planar surface in the images corresponding to a floor surface of the interior room and a plurality of corners in the images forming vertices of a bounded floor area on the floor surface. The processor can compute an adjusted floor area of the building that includes the bounded floor area subtracted from the gross floor area.

  • Patent number: 11544872
Abstract: A novel multiple camera calibration algorithm uses human joint points for matched key points. A recent machine-learning based human joint detector provides joint positions with labels (e.g. left wrist, right knee, and others). In single person situation, it directly provides matched key points between multiple cameras. Thus, the algorithm does not suffer a key-point matching problem, even in a very sparse camera configuration, which is challenging in the traditional image feature-based method. This algorithm provides easy setup for a multiple camera configuration for marker-less pose estimation.

  • Patent number: 11544860
Abstract: Three-dimensional (3D) point cloud generation using a stationary laser scanner and a mobile scanner. The method includes scanning a first part of a surrounding with the stationary laser scanner, obtaining a first 3D point cloud, scanning a second part of the surrounding with the mobile scanner, obtaining a second 3D point cloud, whereby there is an overlap region of the first part and the second part, and aligning the second 3D point cloud to the first 3D point cloud to form a combined 3D point cloud. The positional accuracy of points of the second 3D point cloud is increased by automatically referencing second scanner data of the overlap region, generated by the mobile scanner, to first scanner data of the overlap region, generated by the stationary laser scanner. Therewith, deformations of the second 3D point cloud and its alignment with the first 3D point cloud are corrected.

  • Patent number: 11533494
Abstract: A system comprises an encoder configured to compress attribute information and/or spatial for a point cloud and/or a decoder configured to decompress compressed attribute and/or spatial information for the point cloud. To compress the attribute and/or spatial information, the encoder is configured to convert a point cloud into an image based representation. Also, the decoder is configured to generate a decompressed point cloud based on an image based representation of a point cloud. The encoder generates an occupancy map and may also encode the occupancy map as an image based representation. In some embodiments, a video encoder encodes image based representations of spatial information for the points of the point cloud, image based representations of attribute values for points of the point cloud, and an image based representation of an occupancy map for the spatial and attribute images.

  • Patent number: 11501680
Abstract: Embodiments provide a computer implemented method for warping multi-field color virtual content for sequential projection. First and second color fields having different first and second colors are obtained. A first time for projection of a warped first color field is determined. A first pose corresponding to the first time is predicted. For each one color among the first colors in the first color field, (a) an input representing the one color among the first colors in the first color field is identified; (b) the input is reconfigured as a series of pulses creating a plurality of per-field inputs; and (c) each one of the series of pulses is warped based on the first pose. The warped first color field is generated based on the warped series of pulses. Pixels on a sequential display are activated based on the warped series of pulses to display the warped first color field.
