  • Patent number: 7476992
Abstract: An electric motor (10) wherein the housing (12) comprises a sleeve (42) having a vent opening (110) extending therethrough. The motor cover (22) has a diaphragming portion (140) overlaying the vent opening (110). The diaphragming portion (140) adheres against the sleeve (42) to close the vent opening (110) when pressure within the motor chamber (14) is less than ambient pressure, thereby preventing the passage of air from the chamber (14). The diaphragming portion (140) lifts from the sleeve (42) to open the vent opening (110) when pressure within motor chamber (14) is greater than ambient pressure, thereby allowing the passage of air from the chamber (14).

  • Patent number: 7462035
Abstract: An entirely wearable electrical connector for power/data connectivity. The principal element of a modular network is the wearable electrical connector, which is integrated into a personal area network with USB compatibility. Several wearable connector embodiments are disclosed. The first, an O-ring based version, was subsequently replaced by a more mature second version, which is based on anisotropic pressure sensitive conductive elastomer. Both are snap-style, low-profile, 360°-moving, round, blind operable plug-and-play, reconfigurable wearable connectors with power/data daisy-lattice-style connectivity. A third embodiment comprises a non-conductive elastomeric environmental seal. A fourth embodiment utilizes a self-acting, automatic shutter-type environmental seal. • Patent number: 7448892
Abstract: This invention is directed to a lamp holder for receiving the contact pins at the end of a fluorescent lamp. More specifically, for a ceiling mounted fixture, the lamp holders for the contact pins of a fluorescent lamp each include two downwardly extending straight elongated slots or channels spaced to receive the contact pins of the lamp. Mounting of the lamp is accomplished by inserting each pin of the lamp into its own downwardly extending slot in the lamp holder and then pushing the pins up into the slots until they reach the end where they are automatically locked to the lamp holders. The lamp in not twisted or rotated to lock it to the lamp holder. As the contact pins of the lamp are inserted into the channels of the lamp holder, they are captured by a latching member which automatically locks the pins to the receptacle.
