Abstract: The present invention concerns a shoe, particularly for post-surgery or post-trauma use, intended to be worn by a patient whose ball of the foot is suffering from an injury or from any sort of damage which may be painful, this shoe comprising an upper (1) which is integral with a block sole (2) of which the posterior part is constituted of a heel (3) which is substantially thicker at the front than at the back.In the invention, the block sole (2) comprises a thin anterior part (4) which extends the top part of the heel forward with the same inclination as the latter and which presents larger crosswise and lengthwise dimensions than those of the foot (P). This thin anterior part (4) is practically indeformable lengthwise and crosswise, but can flex in its height in an area (A) situated essentially at the point of the Lisfranc division of the foot, without coming into contact with the ground.
Abstract: The ski boot comprises a shell to which is associated at least one quarter. An electric motor is contained in the boot and has at least a controlling portion accessible from the outside. The electric motor is electrically connected to an electric power source accommodated inside the boot and is mechanically connected with a speed reducer. The output shaft of the speed reducer is operatively associated with straps for closing the boot and/or with cables or mechanism for securing the foot inside the boot. In the controlling portion accessible from the outside, push-buttons are provided for selective actuation of the electric motor with the possibility of rotation in one direction and with the possibility of rotation in the opposite direction to vary accordingly the rotation of said output shaft.
Abstract: An improved sports boot is provided for use by snow skiers and the like, wherein the boot includes an improved boot liner interposed between a substantially rigid outer boot shell and the foot and lower leg region of a skier. The boot liner is defined by flexible sheet material extending about selected anatomical zones of the skier's foot and lower leg region to define a plurality of relatively small chambers each of relatively low vertical dimension and partially filled with a metered quantity of substantially uniform sized particulate. The boot liner further includes a plurality of small vents for restricted air passage between adjacent chambers, with one of said chambers communicating with a main air discharge tube.
Abstract: A ski boot, particularly of the rear-entry type, with a device for securing the heel comprising an elongated element which extends transversely relatively to the longitudinal extension of the rear quarter. The elongated element is accommodated inside the rear quarter, substantially at the level of the heel of the user, and is connected with the mutually opposite longitudinal edges of the rear quarter.
Abstract: The lining comprises an ankle part consisting of a front portion (4) and of a rear tongue (5) articulated at the level of the heel, and also of a portion (2) surrounding the foot. The lining possesses a transverse cut-out (20) on the instep, allowing free forward flexion of the ankle part. The portion extending over the foot possesses in addition a lengthwise slit (9) opening into the transverse cut-out (20) and allowing uniform gripping of the foot, preferably without any overlap of the two edges of this slit.
Abstract: A protective, disposable construction for covering an amputee's other limb while taking a cast of that limb for a prosthesis so the amputee's shoes, socks, slacks and proximate clothing do not become splashed with plaster during the cast taking process for maintaining a free and clean condition of the proximate clothing consisting of a pair of generally mirrored panels of material with sides and ends with a protuberance on one side at one end thereof and a stitch member disposed along the one side at the end adjacent the protuberance, the stitch member closing the one side and the end integrally together.
Abstract: The ski boot shall allow an as convenient as possible walking on the ground surface and also a stable standing on the ground surface. To this end the heel and the sole of the boot are provided individually with a roll off area. When the ski boot rolls off on the ground surface, the two roll off areas combine. To this end the center of the radius on the roll off area of the heel is located in the area of the ankle. The center of the radius of the roll off area located at the sole of the shoe lies in the center of the knee joint. When walking with this boot, a rising and downwards movement of the ankle is avoided. Accordingly, the ski boot comprises a stable standing area which stabilizes the body when it stands. During the walking, the position of the center of gravity of the weight of the body is altered automatically such that the standing area cannot form a standing plane. Conclusively, the rolling off movement during walking is a smooth movement.
Abstract: A snowshoe having a flexible framework demountably engaged in a fabric shell. The individual elements of the framework are rigid but are releasably joined together through rotatable joints so as to provide the flexible framework. The fabric shell forms the deck for the snowshoe and holds the various rigid elements together into the flexible framework. A shoe clamp on the top surface of the fabric deck is mounted to a cleat on the bottom surface of the fabric deck.
Abstract: The boot is composed of a lower shell (1), on which an upper (2) is articulated about a pivot axis (5) coinciding at least approximately with the joint of the foot. The shell (1) has on the outside, at the rear, a rounded portion (12), the radius of curvature of which is centered on the pivot axis, (5), to allow the upper (2) to tilt to the rear. Means, such as ribs (17), are provided inside the part (11) of the shell in order to limit the space intended for receiving the skier's heel.
Abstract: A snowshoe is provided with a transverse steel cable that engages the opposite longitudinal side members of its frame structure. A harness secured to this cable consists of two jaw members which are pivotally connected to one another at one end thereof and cooperate to clamp the edge of the front sole portion of a user's boot. A rubber strap is attached at its opposite ends to one of the jaw members for further securing the boot to the harness. The decking of the snowshoe has an opening to allow the pivotal movement of the front portion of the boot during use. The jaw members have finger-engaging portions to facilitate the mounting and dismounting of a boot to and from the harness.
Abstract: A ski boot having a foot receiving casing and a leg portion, as well as a pressure distribution plate which is disposed between casing and an inner boot portion inserted in the casing, and which plate is provided with a device which presses the pressure distribution plate towards the instep region. The pressure distribution plate is under the influence of a device which presses the plate against the instep of the foot, so that the plate abuts substantially the entire instep and is pulled towards the heel of the foot.
