  • Patent number: 3943353
Abstract: There is described a decorative lamp fixture having its main components detachably connected to a flat base structure so that the assembly can be disassembled into pieces to allow packing or storage in a small space. The assembly includes chains of decorative elements of a light transmissive or reflective material. The chains of the decorative elements are arranged around an electric lamp in a density suitable for hiding the lamp from direct external view. When the lamp is lit, the light rays are transmitted through or reflected on the surfaces of the chained decorative elements producing splendid optical effects which add beauty to a room or other places.

  • Patent number: 3942184
Abstract: A light attenuating filter is provided for a light responsive exposure control system in order to facilitate calibration of the exposure control system so that the amount of scene light admitted by the exposure control system during an exposure interval will substantially correspond to a particular film speed. The exposure control system is of the type having a light detector wherein the light attenuating filter is movable into intercepting relation with a select portion of the scene light directed toward the light detecting means. The select intercepted portion of the scene light is determined and fixed during the manufacture of the exposure control system in order to provide the requisite output response from the light detecting means to terminate an exposure interval in time to insure that the amount of scene light admitted during the photographic cycle substantially corresponds to the select film speed.

  • Patent number: 3940781
Abstract: A diaphragm drive apparatus for an objective lens with a manually preselectable diaphragm. The diaphragm drive apparatus is provided within the objective housing and is actuable by the shutter release mechanism of the camera to which it is affixed. The apparatus includes a plunger which operates a release mechanism. This release mechanism operates a drive lever which effects a connection with a diaphragm blade drive ring. A cam follower provided on an arm of the drive lever follows a cam surface on the release mechanism. The cam surface has one portion for effecting movement of the cam follower in engagement with the cam surface and a second portion which does not impart movement to the cam follower.

  • Patent number: 3940780
Abstract: In a camera having a focal plane shutter, a light-intercepting device for preventing light from passing through the clearance between the shutter curtain and the camera body to strike the film comprises at least one pair of resilient, opaque, planar light-intercepting members each having a rectilinear edge portion at one end thereof. These members are supported either by the camera body or by a support frame separable from the camera body so that they are inclined relative to the shutter curtain with the rectilinear edge portions being parallel to the direction of movement of the shutter curtain and making line contact with one side of the shutter curtain near the opposite edges thereof. An additional pair of identical light-intercepting members may be provided for making line contact with the other side of the shutter curtain.

  • Patent number: 3939484
Abstract: A still camera wherein the main section of the housing contains a shutter, a pivotable shutter cocking member, a normally open switch which must be closed to terminate an exposure, and a release for opening the shutter and for closing the switch. A second section of the housing is reciprocable with respect to the main section between an extended position in which the camera is ready to make an exposure and a depressed position in which the second section conceals the picture taking lens and the view finder in the main section. When the second section is moved to its depressed position, it directly or indirectly prevents the movement of release from a starting position and/or from closing of the switch. The shutter is cocked and the film is transported by the length of a frame in response to movement of the second section to its depressed position.

  • Patent number: 3938165
Abstract: A photographic camera having an automatic exposure control means and a self-timer and provided with a shutter release locking means which is operated to lock the shutter release mechanism when the scene brightness is lower than a predetermined level is provided with a shutter locking means nullifying lever which nullifies the effect of the shutter release locking means when desired. Particularly, the nullifying lever is associated with the self-timer so that the self-timer is made operable only when the nullifying lever is in the nullifying position so that the shutter locking means may be nullified every time the self-timer is used. In one preferred embodiment, the nullifying lever is used as a self-timer start lever. In another embodiment, the nullifying lever is used to cover a self-timer start button when the lever is in the position to allow the shutter locking means to operate.

  • Patent number: 3938168
Abstract: A camera is provided with a camera shutter including two substantially planar plates longitudinally arranged and set in tandem. The plates are provided with exposure clearances and are longitudinally movable into successive overlying positions for aligning the exposure clearances thereof. Means are provided whereby the plates are longitudinally displaced by a rocker lever, the plates being respectively pivotally connected to opposed arms of the rocker lever for displacement, respectively, thereof.
