  • Patent number: 5475941
Abstract: The pliers have a first arm with first and second ends and a second arm with first and second ends. The two arms are pivotally coupled together. The first ends include a slotted member located opposing and facing a bearing member respectively. The slotted member has a slot with an open end extending therethrough for receiving a hook end of a fishhook. The bearing member has a bearing surface for supporting a rounded portion of the fishhook such that a pork rind may be located between the two members and attached to the hook of a fishhook by moving the first ends to the closed position. The second ends include a hook retaining member located opposing a hook receiving member.

  • Patent number: 5038512
Abstract: A weight forward spinning lure for spin casting, drift fishing, or trolling, having a weighted body section comprising a keeled head portion and a scoop portion. The keeled head portion is fashioned to receive the scoop portion at an angle whereby the scoop portion, in association with the keel head portion, provides stability and enables the lure to follow a generally horizontal path as the lure travels through water. A deep dive with a minimum amount of line out to approximate the use of a downrigger is obtainable through selection of size of scoop and weight of keeled head.

  • Patent number: 5031273
Abstract: The vibration-free handle comprises a first rod connected to a vibration source via an attachment, a second rod connected to the first rod at one end thereof with a predetermined inclination, a mass body mounted on the other end of the second rod, and an elastic member provided between the first rod and the vibration source for covering the first and second rods. The elastic member possesses spring constants in three directions, one direction being defined by the direction the vibration source vibrates (z-direction) and the other two directions extending perpendicularly to each other in a plane perpendicular to the z-direction. When the second rod, which serves as a grip of the handle, extends perpendicularly to the z-direction and the vibration source starts vibrating, there appear "vibration knots" in the second rod, at which the vibration amplitude is substantially zero, in three directions. The "vibration knots" reduce the vibration from the vibration source.

  • Patent number: 5025585
Abstract: A fishing line cutter, a fishing rod with a fishing line cutter, and a fishing reel with a fishing line cutter. In one embodiment of a fishing line cutter according to this invention, the cutter has a body, a sharp edged member for cutting line mounted to the body, and a plurality of fingers extending from the body to facilitate attaching the cutter to a fishing rod. In another embodiment, a cutter has dual opposed cutting edges. Another type of cutter has a shield which is movable to expose a cutting blade. In another embodiment, a cutter has a retractable blade. In another embodiment a cutter has overlapping protective fingers past which a line passes prior to cutting. In another embodiment, part of the body member is movable to permit blade replacement.

  • Patent number: 5016387
Abstract: A fishing lure has a tear shaped buoyant body to which reflective surfaced fins are secured. The fins are made of a material having a memory to always return to their original shape and contour. The fins may be composed of a clear material with a Mylar laminate. The fins are secured in positions to cause the spinning of the buoyant body when the body is pulled through the water. The finned lure creates flashes via the reflective surfaces when pulled. The fishing lure is threaded along the leader using a central longitudinal hole thereof.

  • Patent number: 4996740
Abstract: A door closer adapter/replacement assembly for converting a doorway equipped with an interiorly mounted door closer unit for usage with an exteriorly mounted door closer unit. The assembly comprises (a) a bushing positionable on an exteriorly protruding spindle of the interiorly mounted door closer unit, and (b) an arm including a tongue affixable to a door fitting the doorway, and a structural portion defining a cavity which is matable with the bushing. The bushing and the structural portion of the arm defining the cavity are constructed and arranged such that the arm is free-spinning on the bushing. The assembly is employable on spindles of both header (overhead) mounted and floor mounted door closer units, and obviates the need for disassembly of the overhead structure or threshold of the doorway, so that the concealed door closer can remain in place while the door is adapted to use with an exteriorly mounted door closer unit.

  • Patent number: 4977700
Abstract: A fishing leader carrier in the form of an open-ended, hollow tube has teeth at one end to receive the leader hooks and slots at the opposite end for aligning individual leaders to be added to or released from the frictional clamping action of a resilient ring positioned annularly of the external cylindrical surface of the tube and running laterally across a midportion of the slots. A block of water buoyant material fitted inside the tube provides flotation.
