  • Patent number: 6571437
Abstract: A double-bow shoe lace device for a shoe includes a shoe lace, a clamp member, and a positioning unit. The shoe lace has first and second lace portions, each of which has lower, upper, and medial sections. The lower sections of the lace portions are anchored on eyelet tabs of the shoe. The upper sections of the lace portions are tied together to form a knot and a pair of distal lace ends. The clamp member is sleeved slidably on the medial sections of the lace portions. Downward and upward movements of the clamp member along the lace portions permit the tightening and loosening of the shoe. The positioning unit positions the knot on the clamp member such that the medial sections of the lace portions form first and second loops between the knot and the clamp member.

  • Patent number: 5659931
Abstract: A multiple-piece buckle having a socket member and at least one plug member, wherein the plug member has a resilient tongue which defines an aperture or other opening near a distal end thereof, and wherein the socket member includes a lug or pin which is adapted to fit into the aperture to lock the plug member into the socket member. The socket member includes a hinged plate or button in a top face thereof which can be depressed to force the resilient tongue of the plug member away from the pin to release the aperture so as to disengage the buckle.

  • Patent number: 4813184
Abstract: A vehicle door seal with a channel shaped gripping part is mounted on a bodywork flange defining the door opening and this part supports a tubular sealing part such as made of plastics or rubber of cellular or foamed configuration. The air pressure within the latter can be increased or decreased by means of an air pump connected to a tubular extension. When the door is opened, the air within the sealing part is evacuated and the sealing part collapses to permit easy closing of the door. When the door is closed, the air pressure within the tubular part is increased so as to inflate the sealing part towards its circular configuration and to bring it into sealing engagement with the closed door. The interior of the sealing part is lined with an air-impervious lining and this and the interior of the part are formed with grooves which are so configured that the collapsed sealing part has a neat appearance.

  • Patent number: 4800678
Abstract: A tilt-lock device 3 for rotary tilt-wing windows and doors or the like consists of a tilt-lock plate 4 with lock-webs 14, 15 sitting upon the upright frame bar in the lower frame corner at the lock side and of a locking element 11 associated with the upright wing bar at the lock side sitting at the lower end of a swivel lashing 5. The swivel lashing 5 passes with its bearing pivot 10 through an elongated slot 17 in a U-rail 6 which serves for guidance of the connecting rod 7 . The swivel lashing 5 is releasable for a limited swivel motion at least in the tilt-open switch position and when a locking element 11 engages in a tilt-lock pocket 12 of the tilt-lock plate 4. A flexible bar spring 19 sits with two laterally spaced legs 19b, 19c interconected through a web 19a on the one hand in a mounting support 6, 17 and is clamped on the other hand with its two legs 19b and 19c at the swivel lashing 5 at a distance from the axis of its bearing pivot 10.

  • Patent number: 4799298
Abstract: A strap retainer includes a flexible plate adapted to be attached by sewing to a substrate, and a retaining mound integral with the plate and raised above the upper surface of the plate so as to define therebetween a pair of laterally aligned apertures for the passage therethrough of the strap. A sewing groove extends in the upper surface of the plate along a peripheral edge of the plate for receiving a sewing thread. A support ridge projects from the bottom surface of the plate and extends along the peripheral edge of the plate, the ridge being disposed inwardly of and immediately adjacent to the sewing groove. The strap retainer thus constructed is free from curling up around the periphery thereof and is capable of protecting the sewing thread against abrasive wear.

  • Patent number: 4797984
Abstract: A buckle is constructed of a base, latch piece, holding member and release member. The base has a bottom wall and side walls defining substantially L-shaped holes. The latch piece is supported on the base rockingly between a tongue latching position and a tongue non-latching position. The holding member is received at both end portions in the holes displaceably between a holding position, where the end portions are in the horizontal portions of the corresponding holes so as to hold at the latching position the latch piece which has been in the latching position, and a non-holding position where the end portions are in the vertical portions of the corresponding holes so as to permit movement of the latch piece from the latching position. The release member is provided displaceably between a non-operated position and an operated position and adapted to bring the holding member to the non-holding position and the latch piece to the non-latching position when the release member assumes the operated position.

  • Patent number: 4796954
Abstract: A rear structure of a seat back for an automotive seat is disclosed. In order to increase the depth dimension of a seat cushion, a rearwardly curved reinforcing rod is welded to the lower portion of an inverted U-shaped frame forming the seat, and the shape holding portions of a cushion member thicker than the turned-back portions thereof covering the upper portion of the frame are applied against the frame with the rod welded thereto. The outer surfaces of the shape holding portions are arranged to form the same plane with the outer surfaces of the turned-back portions, so that the right and left corners of the rear portion of the seat back can be formed square.
