  • Patent number: 11197043
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method receives a network topology of a distributed access architecture and a legacy video network. Video streams include characteristics that are associated with delivery via the legacy video network. The method selects a set of anchor points for a remote physical device in the distributed access architecture where the set of anchor points are associated with a geographic location of the remote physical device. A set of attribute labels are selected for the set of anchor points where the set of attribute labels associated with characteristics of the video streams. The method then generates a definition of video streams based on the anchor points and the attribute labels for a remote physical device configuration and generates the remote physical device configuration for video. The remote physical device configuration is used to provide the video streams to the remote physical device.

  • Patent number: 11157965
Abstract: Systems and methods record tracking events during a presentation of supplementary content items to determine whether viewer(s) stopped watching the supplementary content item or watched the supplementary content item in its entirety. This determination may provide value to content publishers or (multi video programming distributors (MVPDs)) through preventing such supplementary content items from showing, whether in certain contexts, to certain viewers, and/or to certain audience segments. In some instances, the systems and methods may utilize machine-learning model(s) to determine which combinations of supplementary content items, contextual signals, viewers, and/or audience segments are likely to abandonment a supplementary content item. Preventing these combinations from showing, improves viewer experiences, permits MVPDs to effectively utilize opportunities for presenting supplementary content to viewers, in order to maximize revenue yield paid by supplementary content providers (e.g.

  • Patent number: 11151386
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for systems and methods for automated identification and tagging of video content. Example methods may include determining a first set of frames in video content, determining a first set of faces that appear in the first set of frames, and extracting first image content corresponding to respective faces of the first set of faces. Methods may include classifying the first image content into a first set of clusters, generating a second set of clusters comprising a second set of faces, wherein the second set of faces has less faces than the first set of faces, and determining a first actor identifier associated with a first face in the second set of clusters. Some methods may include determining second image content in the second set of clusters comprising the first face, and automatically associating the first actor identifier with the second image content.

  • Patent number: 11146836
Abstract: Methods and systems for improved detection of audio transmissions are provided. In one embodiment, a method is provided that includes receiving an audio signal containing an audio transmission. The audio transmission may contain a predetermined portion that was initially generated based on an expected sequence of complex-valued signals. A real portion of the expected sequence of complex-valued signals may be compared to the received audio signal to identify a first portion of the received audio signal. A complex portion of the expected sequence may be compared to portions of the received audio signal near the first portion of the received audio signal to identify a second portion of the received audio signal. An arrival time of the audio transmission may be determined based on the second portion of the received audio signal.

  • Patent number: 11134305
Abstract: In one aspect, a method includes receiving first content at a content-presentation device and presenting the first content, the first content comprising a first audio-content component. The content-presentation device may receive second content comprising a second audio-content component. The content-presentation device may determine a switch time at which to switch from presenting the first content to presenting the second content. During a first time interval prior to the switch time and ending at the switch time, the volume of the first audio-content component may be decreased to zero. At the switch time, the content-presentation device may switch from presenting the first content to presenting the second content. During a second time interval beginning at the switch time and ending at a second time after the switch time, the volume of the second audio-content component may be increased from zero to a non-zero volume level.

  • Patent number: 11115693
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for performing efficient video transmission are disclosed. In a video processing system, a transmitter sends encoded pixel data to a receiver. The receiver stores the encoded pixel data in a buffer at an input data rate. A decoder of the receiver reads the pixel data from the buffer at an output data rate. Each of a transmitter and the receiver maintains a respective synchronization counter. When detecting a start of a frame, each of the transmitter and the receiver stores a respective frame start count as a copy of a current value of the respective synchronization counter. The transmitter sends its frame start count to the receiver. The receiver determines a difference between the respective frame start counts, and adjusts the decoding rate based on the difference.
