  • Patent number: 6777629
Abstract: A meso-scale MEMS device having a movable member (51) is formed using standard printed wiring board and high density interconnect technologies and practices. In one embodiment, sacrificial material disposed about the movable member (51) is removed through openings (101, 102) as formed through a cover (91) to form a cavity (121) that retains and limits the freedom of movement of the movable member (51). • Patent number: 6774751
Abstract: Connecting bars are made from profiled semifinished products and have a cavity. The bars have the same outer dimensions for different nominal currents and are intended for connecting the electrical components of electrical devices and apparatus to an external electrical circuit. The connecting bars extend through the window opening located in the wall of the devices or apparatus and are fixed in the housing by a fixing device including two or more partial parts profiles. These are configured in such a way that they can be connected to one another by positive fit or otherwise to a hollow connecting bar. The partial parts have one or several legs, the length of which defines the height of the connecting bar.

  • Patent number: 6774331
Abstract: A pressure-sensitive switch, includes: an edge structure extending in a substantially closed contour; a first carrier which is connected on its edges to the edge structure and which is electrically conductive on its side connected to the edge structure; a second carrier which is connected on its edges to the edge structure and which extends substantially parallel to the first carrier and is electrically conductive on its side connected to the structure; and connecting elements for connecting the external connections to the first and the second carrier, wherein the distance between the carriers in their neutral position is substantially the same over the whole surface by a spacer which holes or by a set of spacers attached to at least one of the carriers. Owing to this uniform spacing between the carriers the switch is identical over its whole active surface, so that no local aberrations such as dimples have to be made. The switch can hereby be miniaturized more easily.

  • Patent number: 6770825
Abstract: The present invention is a reinforced connection between a distributor body and a distributor cap. The distributor cap rests on the distributor body as in the conventional arrangements. However, an additional clamp is provided to mount over the interface between the distributor cap and distributor sandwiching the components there between. A screw/bolt passes through the clamp and through both the cap and distributor body and engages a threaded portion of the clamp. By simply tightening the screw/bolt, the cap and distributor are clamped together without inducing concentrated stresses in the distributor body. The clamp may be used in a retrofit application to strengthen the existing connection between the cap and distributor body, repair the connection in a cracked or otherwise damaged distributor, or installed as part of an original equipment design.

  • Patent number: 6765163
Abstract: The invention is applicable to automatically triggered switches that are turned on by means of angular displacement, in either direction, of a contact bridge and its support (1). It is characterized in that the outside of the support (1) includes pins (3) which, when the switch is off, are perpendicular to the direction of displacement of an actuator (4) joined to a remote handle (13). Since the pins (3) turn as a consequence of the switch being turned on, when the handle is operated, the actuator (4) is displaced and its arms (6) force the pins (3) to move in the opposite direction into their initial position, effecting the reset. It is preferably used to reset switches provided in elevator speed limiters.

  • Patent number: 6762380
Abstract: A membrane switch circuit layout and method for producing a membrane switch circuit layout are disclosed. The membrane switch circuit layout may have two or more membrane layers. Each membrane has a top surface and a bottom surface. A conductive circuit trace is printed on the top surface of each membrane. The membrane layers are placed in a stack with each top membrane having thru-holes selectively cut there through. Thus, for example, in a layout having two membrane layers, the first membrane is positioned beneath the second membrane and the second membrane has thru-holes cut there through. Conductive ink may be pressed through the thru-holes to provide electrical connection between the circuit traces printed on the membrane layers. An adhesive may be placed between the membrane layers as either adhesive printed on one of the membrane layers or as an additional layer.

  • Patent number: 6762372
Abstract: A multidirectional input device includes a top substrate holding an electronic component having an operating shaft at its center; a frame surrounding this top substrate; and a bottom substrate on which plural push switches are disposed. Both substrates are rockably configured along two rocking axes intersecting at right angles which are perpendicular to a rotation axis of the operating shaft. This configuration allows to output a signal different for each pressing, rotating, or rocking operation of the operating shaft. The multidirectional input device with a comfortable tactile feedback during use can be assembled in advance as an independent device.

  • Patent number: 6756550
Abstract: A switch assembly includes a rotary-push switch group placed on a switch lever. The switch group includes rotary and push switches each having movable contacts supported on corresponding fixed contacts. The rotary switch includes a rotary actuating element actuable to rotate about a longitudinal axis of the switch lever to actuate its movable contacts. The push switch includes an actuating element actuable to move axially along the longitudinal axis in response to axially directed pushing movement to actuate its movable contacts. The fixed contacts associated with the movable contacts of the rotary switch lie in a plane transverse to the longitudinal axis. A slider is engaged to the rotary actuating element to rotate therewith to guide the movable contacts of the rotary switch concentrically about the longitudinal axis. The slider is push-decoupled to the rotary actuating element such that pushing movement is absent from being felt by the slider.
