    Abstract: A processing system reduces latency and improves predictability of a scan out position to support graphics processing unit (GPU) front buffer rendering with a variable refresh rate (VRR) display. The GPU detects whether front buffer rendering such as inking is occurring on a frame-by-frame basis. In order to maintain a safe distance from the current scan out position and achieve low latency to improve the user experience, the GPU increases the refresh rate of the VRR display to a low-latency (high-frequency) fixed refresh rate in response to detecting front buffer rendering. In some embodiments, the GPU decreases the refresh rate in response to detecting a static screen to save power.

The artifact correction system generates, with a generator of a generative adversarial neural network (GAN), a feature map from the digital image that represents features of the dust or scratch artifact and features of the scene. A training system can train the generator adversarially to reduce visibility of dust and scratch artifacts in digital images against a discriminator, and train the discriminator to distinguish between reconstructed digital images generated by the generator and real-world digital images. The artifact correction system generates, from the feature map and with the generator, a reconstructed digital image that depicts the scene of the digital image and reduces visibility of the dust or scratch artifact of the digital image.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for local augmented reality (AR) tracking of an AR object are disclosed. In one example embodiment a device captures a series of video image frames. A user input is received at the device associating a first portion of a first image of the video image frames with an AR sticker object and a target. A first target template is generated to track the target across frames of the video image frames. In some embodiments, global tracking based on a determination that the target is outside a boundary area is used. The global tracking comprises using a global tracking template for tracking movement in the video image frames captured following the determination that the target is outside the boundary area. When the global tracking determines that the target is within the boundary area, local tracking is resumed along with presentation of the AR sticker object on an output display of the device.

The graphics system receives the data points, and expands a polygonal mesh from the position of each particular data point such that each side of the polygonal mesh connects to a side of a polygonal mesh that is expanded from the position of each data point of a set of data points that neighbors the particular data point. The polygonal mesh of the particular data point spans a larger area or volume of the space than the particular data point. The graphics system produces the continuous visualization of the scene from rendering the polygonal mesh that is expanded from the position of each particular data point instead of rendering the data points.
