  • Patent number: 6948842
Abstract: The present invention provides a light emitting diode array illuminant and a backlight module by using the same, which comprises at least a carrier and a plurality of light emitting diodes. The carrier comprises a front surface and a back surface, and a plurality set of contacts are disposed on the front surface and back surface of the carrier. The light emitting diodes are disposed on the carrier, and are electrically connected to the contacts of each set, respectively. The illuminant provided by the light emitting diodes emits a light from a side of the carrier. The present invention further applies the light emitting diode array illuminant to a backlight module, so that it can be activated under low temperature and also protects the backlight module from over heating after it is activated.

  • Patent number: 6948826
Abstract: The present solar light assembly uses a unique solar light box that has an upper step which visually frames a lower step. The lower step has a deep cavity that houses most of the components of the solar light assembly, such as an LED light source and a 12 volt battery. The lower step is completely covered by a solar panel which functions as a lid in addition to gathering energy that is stored in the battery. The upper step conceals the solar panel from view by a passerby. There is a rain barrier ridge substantially around an opening to the lower step's deep cavity to prevent water that may collect in the upper step from entering the deep cavity. The solar light box is large enough to house additional components, such as a motion sensor or a camera. In the preferred use of the solar light assembly, the solar light box is mounted to a pole that extends over the top of a cluster box unit.

  • Patent number: 6752515
Abstract: An improved emergency or interim lighting device and associated methods for providing emergency or temporal lighting. The device satisfies the need for an electrochemical lighting system capable of providing prolonged illumination over the life of the power unit. The device benefits from the use of LEDs as the illumination source, which provide optimum lumen output with considerably less power consumption than conventional incandescent lighting devices. By providing for a unique combination of diode arrangement and parabolic reflector the directional limitations of conventional LED lighting devices are overcome and wide area illumination coverage is provided. Additionally a multi-level lighting scheme provides for a means of identifying the device during electrical power outage and providing multiple levels of lighting intensity.

  • Patent number: 6722775
Abstract: A vehicle headlamp including a headlamp unit and an auxiliary lamp in which the brightness of an end portion of the low beam light distribution pattern formed by the beam irradiation from the headlamp unit is reinforced by the auxiliary light distribution pattern formed by the beam irradiation from the auxiliary lamp unit. The high luminous intensity area of the auxiliary light distribution pattern partly overlaps the high luminous intensity area of the low beam light distribution pattern, thus allowing the low beam light distribution pattern and the auxiliary light distribution pattern to be combined. Further, by way of controlling the beam irradiation intensity of the auxiliary lamp unit by a light control unit, the brightness of the low beam light distribution pattern is reinforced by the auxiliary light distribution pattern that has brightness in response to the vehicle running condition.
