Abstract: A method and system for asserting control over and protecting the privacy of individuals' personal and transactional information, to prevent unauthorized use thereof, and permit limited use thereof, with compensation, to the extent permitted the individual. Privacy notices are given in printed and electronic form to other parties involved in the individuals' transactions. The individuals' own data are collected and maintained in a privacy trust database. On a voluntary basis, abstracted, anonymous profile information can be made available to advertisers, in exchange for compensation to the individuals. One use is in a content broadcasting system, where receipt of profile based viewer-specific commercial messages provide financial compensation for the cost of user-selected content received by the individual.

Abstract: An online card-present transaction system facilitates card-present type transactions with a merchant over a public network. A host system is configured to accept authentication data from a user via an authentication device. The host system, after authenticating a user is configured to retrieve the user's account information from a user database system and translate a user account number into a temporary transaction number. The temporary transaction number is then transmitted directly from the host system to the merchant, thereby eliminating the need for the user to send to the merchant over the internet, the user's transaction account number.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods and systems for managing securely installed applications. After installation, an installation framework performs a bind process to correlate the randomly assigned identifier with the unique identifier of the application. The installation framework also manages the execution of the application. When an application is launched, the application framework performs a search for that application's randomly assigned identifier and locates the application's container. The application is then allowed to execute within its container. During execution, the software application may also be restricted in various ways by the installation framework to its dynamic containers. The installer may also work with a trusted operating system component, such as the kernel, to help enforce the container restrictions. In addition, if desired, the use of random identifiers for containers may be used in conjunction with other security mechanisms, such as the use of code signing.

Abstract: A method and system for identifying a work in a data transfer. In accordance with this invention, a data transfer is received. The media content of a work is then read from the data transfer. The media content is then used to generate a fingerprint of the work. The fingerprint is then used to identify the work. A report including the identity of the work is then generated.

Abstract: A method and system to enhance the protection of the data in an user equipment and secure real time streaming of the data in the user equipment is disclosed. The method and system includes sending request by at least one user to access at least one application server. The user is provisioned to download a appropriate CMSC and a mapper into the user equipment from the application server. The method and system further comprises user sending request via an IMS network to download a data to the user equipment. The data is encrypted in the application server and is downloaded into the user equipment. The mapper identifies the appropriate CMSC, which may decrypt the data. Further, the data undergoes double decryption in real time within the user equipment before being presented in user interface. The double decryption is provisioned using the valid CMSC downloaded in the user equipment.

Abstract: A method of packaging broadcast contents are provided. The method includes: extracting a copy control bit from input broadcast contents and determining whether the broadcast contents will be stored after being encrypted based on the extracted copy control bit; creating usage rule information which includes an encryption method of the broadcast contents if it is determined that the broadcast contents will be stored after being encrypted; extracting the copy control bit from each new broadcast content sequentially input and detecting broadcast contents which include copy control bits indicating that the broadcast contents will be stored without being encrypted; and encrypting the input broadcast contents through the broadcast contents before the detected broadcast contents using the encryption method and packaging and storing the encrypted broadcast contents and the usage rule information.

Abstract: A computing device segregates licenses for corresponding content according to relatively short lived licenses for relatively short lived content and relatively long lived licenses for relatively long lived content. The computing device stores the relatively short lived licenses in a more temporary and volatile license store, and the relatively long lived licenses in a more permanent and non-volatile license store. Thus, the relatively short lived licenses are deleted when the temporary license store is turned off and do not create disorder in the permanent license store.

Abstract: A system and method for managing sponsorships by a sponsor, in which the party requesting the sponsorship requests to use content owned and protected by the sponsor, such as trademarks, logos, and copyrighted material. An embodiment of the method involves receiving, at a computer network site, a request for sponsorship from a requester and responding to the request by sending either an approval or a rejection. If an approval is sent, the method further involves providing the requestor with access to content of the sponsor through the site. As part of providing this access, the method can involve requiring the requestor to accept an agreement posted on the site. The method can also include monitoring the requestor's actual use of the content.

Abstract: In an electronic transaction, the invention provides a process and system for blocking a user's account until a verifier verifies the identity of the user. The process comprises pre-enrolling the user and the user's personal communication device. Optionally, one or more of the user's accounts are enrolled. At the time a transaction is initiated, the verifier sends an identification verification request to the portable communication device of the person initiating the electronic-transaction. The person then verifies his/her identity as the user. Optionally, the user authorizes the amount of the transaction. Optionally, the verifier issues to the user a proxy transaction card which the user uses to initiate electronic transactions that will be billed to one of the user's pre-enrolled accounts. Using information obtained from the user's proxy transaction card, the retailer/merchant's bank opens a communications link to the verifier, and the verifier then verifies the user's identity.

A sender client (200) enables a first user to identify message data, a recipient identifier, and a media element from the database of media elements. The recipient client (202) further presents the message data to the second user when the second user performs a predetermined action, such as submitting authentication information or requesting the message data, to receive the message data. The message data may be secured by requiring sender and recipient authentication, and by encoding the data using a private encoding key and data package identifier managed by a main server (206) and a key server (208).

The first storage unit is used to store a target electronic device ID, the second storage unit stores software installation data. The software installation data includes a copyright protection module, a software installation program, and a software data. When the software installation data is invoked to install the software data, the copyright protection module is invoked and automatically runs. The copyright protection module accesses the first storage unit and reads the target electronic device ID. The software data can be installed in the target electronic device only if the first storage unit contained the target electronic device ID or the first storage unit is writable and the target electronic device ID is stored in the first storage unit successfully.

Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for secure data editing is disclosed. A data field receives focus to accept a data entry from a user. The user inputs a data entry into the data field via a user interface. A determination is made of whether a manual lock event, a change focus event, or a time out event has triggered based on the user's action or inaction with the user interface. Upon the triggering of a manual lock event, a change focus event, or a time out event, the data entry in the data field is obscured. The user interface may display a data entry with a validation character which provides a reference point within the data entry while the data entry is displayed and while the data entry is obscured. The system may allow a user to have a specified function set based on his user access level.

Abstract: A system for dealing in an original data content and an edited data content. A data content is handled as an object, and the data content is edited by editing a data content, functioning as an object, in accordance with an edit program. The edited data content is expressed by the original data content and the editing scenario which describes editing detail by the edit program. Only the encrypted editing scenario is dealt in. Upon receipt of the encrypted editing scenario, a user decrypts the encrypted editing scenario using a crypt key obtained from a key management center, and obtains the original data content from the database in accordance with the editing scenario and re-constitutes the edited data content. In case there is the one who wishes sale of the editing scenario, its utilization right is sold by auction.
