    Abstract: A self-cleaning gauge wheel assembly having a gauge wheel mounted for rotation on an agricultural planter and adjustable to set the depth of the planting. A pulley having a diameter at least 1/7th and less of the diameter of the gauge wheel is journaled about an axis spaced from and behind and elevated from the gauge wheel. An endless belt is provided around the gauge wheel and the pulley in tension so that movement of the planter, and associated rotation of the gauge wheel causes the pulley to accelerate any accumulated moist soil and expel it from the belt to provide a self-cleaning feature.

The couplings may each include a retaining member for operatively coupling the push frame to the lift frame, and one or more bearing blocks that facilitate distribution of load between the push frame and retaining member to reduce wear on the push frame. The bearing blocks also may be vertically movable relative to the push frame for common vertical movement with the retaining members to enable such floating movement.

The air warming unit warms the air then forces the air outwardly of the housing through the hot air conduit when turned on. A container is positioned remote of the housing and holds a snow melting compound therein. A dispensing unit is mounted on the housing and is fluidly coupled to the container. The dispensing unit is actuated to extract the snow melting compound from the container and dispense the snow melting compound outwardly from the housing.

    Abstract: A method of dredging a bottom of a body of water is provided. Winching stations are positioned around the perimeter of an area to be dredged and a cable from each winching station is connected to a float. The cables pass through a variable resistance pulley assembly attached to a submersible assembly having a cutter and a submersible pump and are tensioned to suspend the submersible assembly. The cutter and submersible pump are activated and the winches are controlled to move the submersible assembly in a dredging pattern. When an obstacle is encountered the resistance of the pulley assembly is decreased and sufficient tension is applied to the cables to lift the submersible assembly toward the float.
