Abstract: Methods and devices for selectively presenting a user interface or “desktop” across two devices are provided. More particularly, a unified desktop is presented across a device and a computer system that comprise a unified system. The unified desktop acts as a single user interface that presents data and receives user interaction in a seamless environment that emulates a personal computing environment. To function within the personal computing environment, the unified desktop includes a process for docking and undocking the device with the computer system. The unified desktop presents a new user interface to allow access to functions of the unified desktop.

Abstract: Computer systems and methods may display multi-dimensional data sets in a dynamically-generated ocular view, which may show the relationship between data points in the different dimensions. For example, such a data set may include in one dimension results of one or more laboratory tests and, in another dimension, body systems or functions that the respective tests may relate to. The ocular view may depict the relationships between the tests and the systems. By being generated dynamically, moreover, the ocular view may be able to present this information for arbitrary sets of test results, without a template having been generated in advance to specify the layout of some particular combination of results.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for altering a key function of a software input panel (SIP) of an electronic device and a recording medium thereof are provided, wherein the SIP includes a plurality of keys, and the number and layout of the keys are fixed. In the present method, first, an operating interface of an electronic device is switched, wherein the operating interface includes the SIP. Then, each key of the SIP is switched to an input word corresponding to the operating interface. As a result, the input word corresponding to each key of the SIP is automatically altered according to the current operating interface, and accordingly inputting through the SIP is made very convenient.

Abstract: A “safe zone” can be created within which the effect of the actual cursor position is overridden when selecting content. The start position and the end position of the selection can be compared. If the selection is a forward selection but the cursor position has moved upwards, the vertical component of the cursor position is overridden by the vertical position of the cursor at the start of the selection. If the selection is a reverse selection but the cursor position has moved downwards, the vertical component of the cursor position is overridden by the vertical position of the cursor at the start of the selection. The safe zone can have any kind of shape.

Abstract: A computer implemented system and method for displaying information pertaining to physical infrastructure in a building or on a property via a mobile software application operating or a mobile device are provided. The mobile software application includes steps of (a) optionally displaying a list of selectable buildings and/or areas at a property, (b) optionally displaying a list of selectable floors if a building having multiple floors is selected, (c) displaying a list of points of interest for the selected floor, building or area, and (d) displaying a floor plan or area map with selected points of interest highlighted.

Abstract: A control method according to the present disclosure causes a computer of an information apparatus to: display on a display a display screen representing a floor plan of a building; display on the display screen device icons respectively representing one or more target devices, the device icons being movable when dragged and including a humidifier icon that represents a humidifier; and when it is sensed that the humidifier icon is selected, and is moved on the floor plan, display an effect range in which an effect of the humidifier extends, in a region corresponding to a room in the floor plan where a drop of the humidifier icon is sensed.

Abstract: Methods and systems for providing content for webpages are disclosed. The disclosed method includes providing a plurality of selections to set webpage personalization settings and receiving a user selection chosen from one of the plurality of selections. The plurality of selections is provided for a graphic user interface to be defined on a webpage. After receiving a request for a second webpage made by a user through a user device, the content for the second webpage is selected based on the received user selection. The content selection for the second webpage includes identifying two or more content modules for presenting on the second webpage and at least one of the identified content modules includes an associated content indicator. The selected content for the second webpage is then forwarded to the user device for display.

Abstract: A computing device obtains data representing a plurality of items. A viewport is rendered on a display of the computing device. A portion of a first container element and a portion of a second container element are rendered within the viewport. Selectable visual representations for a first subset of the plurality of items are rendered in the portion of the first container element. The computing device receives a plurality of inputs from the user, each of the plurality of inputs selecting a visual representation of an item from the plurality of items rendered in the first container element. Responsive to receiving each input from the user, another visual representation of each selected item is rendered in the second container element, indicating that the selected item has been selected.

Abstract: A system and method for configuring objects in a system diagram to access interfaces of other objects are described. A first node and a second node may be displayed in the system diagram. The second node may implement one or more interfaces, where each interface includes one or more callable functions. An interface wire connecting the first node to the second node may be displayed in response to user input. The system may automatically configure the first node to access at least one of the one or more interfaces of the second node in response to displaying the interface wire.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies are described herein for providing interactive slide presentations with accompanying notes in a reading mode of a presentation application program. In accordance with some of the concepts and technologies disclosed herein, a computer-implemented method includes computer-implemented operations for providing a reading mode user interface that includes a presentation object including a slide placeholder and a notes placeholder. The method may also include displaying slide content within the slide placeholder in the reading mode user interface. The method may also include moving the presentation object out of a view and a new presentation object into the view in response to an input. The method may also include scaling the new presentation object.

Abstract: Techniques and tools are described for facilitating user reflection on past decisions in order to determine trends and to assist in future decision-making. Technologies for administering a career history exercise and for visualizing results of the career history exercise are described. Visualizations include using stage cards representative of stages in a user's career history. User ratings of the stages in his or her career history are displayed on the stage cards using color-shaded ratings units.

Abstract: A subset of graphical display items, in a set of graphical display items stored in the one or more electronic storage devices, that have not previously been viewed by a user is determined. A graphical display item is selected from a subset of graphical display items. The graphical display item may be selected according to an order, or selected randomly. An initial display item and the selected graphical display item are electronically transmitted to a user computing device. The initial display item and the selected graphical display item are configured such that the selected graphical display item is displayed on a display device of the user computing device in response to the user selecting the initial display item when the initial display item is displayed on the display device.

Abstract: Techniques for displaying information. Policy violations are identified, based at least in part on data stored in a data store. For the policy violations, a plurality of semantic objects related to the violations are identified. Arrangements of graphical objects are displayed where the graphical objects represent the identified semantic objects and where the arrangement indicates one or more relationships between pairs of the semantic objects.

Abstract: According to an aspect of the present invention, setting change of a parameter can be performed while checking the content of all parameters on the list screen without screen transition of the list screen. Parameters of a desired page can be set at the same time even if a use condition or the like of the device is changed, or only part of the parameters can be corrected and set. Therefore, a plurality of parameters can be quickly and appropriately set by minimum operation.

Abstract: Supplementing a virtual input keyboard is provided. A form and a virtual input keyboard are displayed in a display of a data processing system. An input is received selecting a particular field within the form. One or more character key sets are retrieved corresponding to previous data entries of the particular field selected. A delta set of character keys is determined based on character keys in the one or more character key sets that do not match displayed character keys on the virtual input keyboard. A set of delta character supplemental virtual input keyboards is generated based on the delta set of character keys. Then, the set of delta character supplemental virtual input keyboards are displayed in the display.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing tilt and pan navigation within a three-dimensional environment in response to a single gesture are provided. An exemplary computer-implemented method includes receiving, by one or more computing devices, data describing a drag performed by a user. The computer-implemented method includes, in response to the drag, incrementally adjusting, by the one or more computing devices, a tilt angle of a virtual camera until the tilt angle equals one of a maximum tilt angle or a minimum tilt angle, and panning, by the one or more computing devices, the virtual camera with respect to a rendering of a three-dimensional model. An exemplary system includes a client device and a server in operative communication over a network.

Abstract: Systems and methods for managing electronic messages are disclosed. In some implementations, a method includes, at a computing device, causing an electronic message to be displayed to a user in an electronic message folder. Responsive to detecting that the user has read at least a portion of the electronic message, without user intervention, the electronic message is removed from the electronic message folder. In some implementations, the electronic message folder is a message inbox and the electronic message is removed from the message inbox to an archive or delete folder. In some implementations, the computing device includes one or more processors and memory storing one or more programs for execution by the one or more processors.
